Honestly, the trailer was better than I thought it was going to be. Looks like a fun, no brain type of film with a nice homage to to the cartoon.

I honestly thought we had a thread... I mean hell, I saw it somewhere....
Anywho...this is one that I really support getting a modern upgrade. Looks like it will be a solid popcorn flick that has the legs to rewatch on TV for years.

Oh, man. Can't wait for this one. I know the first one was pretty cheesy, but I really liked it. Dolph wasn't a very good actor. My youngest son had all the He-Man character figures.

This looks to be pretty solid movie from what I've heard. We'll see if it actually makes coin though. Will it suffer the fate of D&D?

This movie is going to be absolutely horrendous, so this is more about my curiosity than anything. Hope it will at least be fun. I remember watching the trailer and the sword pretty much was a stick. Not cutting into things but just slamming enemies away from him. Plus I think the lead actor might look the part, but what little acting we've seen looks terrible.

This movie is going to be absolutely horrendous, so this is more about my curiosity than anything.

I saw the film on Monday. My employer produced the movie so we had a day of special screenings for the company at Culver Studios.

I'm happy to say, IMO the flick isn't horrendous. Not gonna win any Oscars, but I think you'll likely be entertained at least. It surpassed my expectations, but to be honest I am not generally a fan of super hero and comic book movies so I was expecting dreck. It's a little long at a tick over 2 hours, and the fight scenes got tedious for me.

There were some humorous parts, and if you are a fan of the franchise you'll find a lot of hidden tips of the cap to the legacy. And like the Barbie movie, there is a section of the film where our hero lives in the real world which I liked.

i saw they are offering a Battle Cat popcorn bucket at some places.
sure to be a collectors item...it was pretty badass

My son liked it.

A lot more humor than I thought there would, and it was moderately entertaining. But there was a lot of dumb stuff and the acting was not the greatest. Best acting in the movie was probably Jared Leto and he was unrecognizable. lol

So is it "horrendous"? Maybe not, but it wasn't good.

First third was okay, good at times.

Middle of the movie was a slog only saved by a surprisingly fun Skeletor performance.

Final 3rd was legitimately fun.

watched this last night...it was not what I was expecting.
it was very much an eighties cartoon movie.

The budget was solid....and on display...
The acting was decent, when you consider the source...

The writing was lacking...even considering they were writing an eighties cartoon movie...it was off...

people have mentioned Leto...

I am not a Jared Leto fan...not by any stretch..
however,,,,
Jared Leto took the role of a poorly written eighties cartoon villain,..owned it, and gave an absolutely transcendant performance...Im telling ya, Skeletor made the movie...
there were cheesy monologues where skele would switch to something serious suddenly...and Leto absolutely owned those transitions...the transitions between cheese and serious made the role and the dude nailed them...every...single....time.

the movie overall?? It isnt a total waste of time so long as your expectations are middling...I give it 3.5 stars
and they set it up for a sequel..so...yay.

I saw him in person when Thirty Seconds to Mars opened for Linkin Park. The dude knows how to work a crowd!
