More progress from Brandon Pfaadt: 5 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 Ks.

Really liking the simplified windup. It looks like it’s helped tighten everything up, and the results are starting to show.

75% strike rate
79% first-pitch strike rate
40% chase rate
31% CSW

The sinker, cutter, and changeup all had 80%+ strike rates.

On 13 balls in play, only four fell for hits, and just six were hit 95+ mph.

He’s continuing to lean on the fastball, throwing it 33% of the time, up 12% from his season average. It gave up the loudest contact, but he also filled the zone with it (79% strikes).

The sweeper was phenomenal. After barely using it against the Giants, he threw it 11 times today, picked up two strikeouts, generated a 60% whiff rate, and added 0.9 mph of velocity. It’s always been his best swing-and-miss pitch, and it also had four more inches of induced vertical break.

The cutter also stood out, adding three more inches of horizontal break while posting a pitch mix-best 57% CSW.

He threw all six pitches at least 10% of the time, too.

loved seeing some of the guys take the ball to the opposite field rather than just trying to pull everything. Seemed like they had more opposite field hits than they have all season

Battle of the high ERA starters tonight. Could be a slugfest. We need at least Half Gallen, not Gallen the Pint, to show up on the bump.

It will be interesting to see how Gallen pitches if McCann gets the start behind the plate.

Why do I even turn on games when Gallen is pitching? It's pretty much a guaranteed L these days.

And that's why I hate guys doing one handed catches with their glove at their shoulder. Tawa had time to not catch it so lazily. He needs to be running sprints after the game.

Tawa needs to be sent back down. He's clearly struggling at the plate and he's not good enough in center to justify playing him every day.

As for Gallen, I don't think there's any hope for him (or Pavin either for that matter). DFA.

So after scoring 8 runs on Monday night they've scored 2 in 16 innings since then. Ladies and gentlemen your 2026 AZ Dbacks right there.

Top 10 bullpen with our two best arms unavailable all year, Soroka having a career year prior to injury and E Rod in the All Star game?

If you want to argue that the coaching staff has lost the team than I won’t argue but this is all about the players at this point.

Crap at bats in critical situations(honestly most situations) is the bigger concern in my mind. Dude can’t throw a strike without the umpires help and Gabby takes three swings in a row. Kepler same.

Third inning , King is at 50 pitches or so, Ketel sees 2 pitches, Vargas 1 and Corbin 2 inning over. Let the guy right back in the game.
