For the Diamondbacks series in Miami, according to the team,
First base coach Dave McKay is not with the club for a personal matter.
Assistant hitting coach Travis Denker will serve as first base coach in his place.

Worse than that now. Half Gallen maintaining his sparkling 5.4+ ERA. Don't have the bats to support that much bad pitching.

There was a lot to unpack here.

#1. Groover's unexpected promotion is a disaster, especially at the cost of Fernandez. Watching him strike out looking on 3 pitches with 2 on and nobody out...it was one of the most unprofessional ABs I have seen. The defense at first isn't good at all. He is hilariously not ready

#2. With over a third of the season gone, the #2 OFer with 2 HRs is Alek Thomas, who was foolishly cast away for dudes like Tawa and Barrosa. I am over Hazen way more than I am over Torey.

#3. Pulling Gallen was a disaster. The bullpen gave up 7 damn runs in like 3 innings.

#4. He had a good game but teams are now throwing trash at Marte on the first pitch. He is first pitch swinging

#5. 2-14 with runners in scoring position. It's a drum you can't stop beating.

Can you replace your starting pitcher if he's having a crappy game?

Somebody might want to get a note to Torey.

Good to see Jameson have a clean inning.

I wonder - is he still faster than Carroll?

Not sure he'd read it. Torey Knows Best. As another poster noted, the Dbacks, over time, are pretty much a perennial .500 team - or somewhat below.

Well, Jameson was fairly encouraging tonight. He had some command issues but he didn't give up any runs and cut his ERA from 18.00 down to 4.91 - better than Nelson, Gallen, Kelly or Pfaadt.

Only 8.5 games out on June 10th. May be as close as the Dbacks get to the division lead for the rest of the season - unless Torey wakes from his stupor.
