Is everything
I mean, the stadium atmosphere and number of empty seats speak for themselves. The Cards will also tell you they have a season-ticket waiting list and they had their strongest renewal rate ever.

These are self-reported facts. Are you gonna believe Michael Bidwill or your lying eyes?

Oh the Cards are working an angle for sure. I just don't think the NFL is backloading our home games in an effort to increase attendance.

If anything, the fact that we are usually out of playoff contention by November hurts the late season attendance numbers.

I don't think it's a matter of actual attendance but for the tailgaters and just fans walking long distances from where you park unless you buy a parking pass. Most fans work in a/c-controlled work environments and although living in the heat doesn't necessarily mean you want to be standing in 100+ degrees for an hour

Maybe they hope/expect visiting fans to make up the difference and no one wants to come to PHX in August?

I know people squeal about this every year; it’s probably vibes:

2025 - 2/4 home games
2024 - 3/4 home games
2023 - 2/4 home games
2022 - 2/4 home games
2021 - 1/4 home games

That last season we made the playoffs.

This doesn’t seem like systematic oppression to me.

Is that really fair though? In the SDS days, it wasn’t really possible have the first couple games even on the road.

It seems like once we moved to Glendale we had more home openers.

Maybe it's just me, but it seemed like a given every year we started on the road when we were at Sun Devil. Without looking, I'm guessing the last State Farm opener was KC?
