I don't like this argument from the team.

Stetson Bennett was 29-3 in college. Playing a lot of games and winning a lot of games is as much about the team as the QB. Bad QB's in great programs will generally win lots of games.

Yeah...any'ol'body can suck at QB and yet go to the playoffs, and win in the playoffs, and advance to the Natty,....in a P4 conference..
Just so long as there is a decent team around them

The guy has played in/for multiple high stakes games and teams and been in/contributed to 3 national championship games. He's produced very good stats against good caliber players and teams; and yet, you claim he is awful. Maybe I don't understand the word awful.

Well yeah, Stetson Bennett is one of them. See also Jake Coker, Will Howard, Riley Leonard, Max Duggan, Jake Fromm, Cardale Jones, Nick Marshall, Everett Golson, AJ McCarron, Jordan Jefferson.

Heck, there's more bad QBs play for the Natty than good ones. Would be easier to list the good ones.

There's dozens of bad QBs in college you can say this about. It's a different game, with far greater roster and talent disparity between teams than the NFL.

There are lots of really bad QBs that were awful in the NFL or never even made it that won lots of games in college and played in massive games.

The fact that we are talking about how many games he played and won and not anything at all about his talent really says it all.

I didn't like the pick.

I actually liked Rosen in the end, he won me over. Not as a player but as a dude. I thought he was an average talent and a super douche coming out. I actually grew to like him as a person though. He was thrown into a bad situation and his pressers impressed me.

Why not look at it as being more developed coming in, saving time to develop him in his first few years in the NFL.

He’s older, he has more experience. Throw him in there and see what he’s got. If he pans out, great. If not, draft another qb next year.

Also, how are we explaining Beck's interceptions going from 6 in his 2023 season to 12 in both his 2024 and 2025 seasons. You can ask similar questions about his yards per game decreasing veery year after 2023, his highest QB rating being in 2023, same with his air yards per attempt, and yards per attempt. Interesting that the only thing that has increased since 2023 is his TDs thrown.

Sure, you can frame it that way but you would also feed to equally factor in that he would have limited room to grow because he is more of a finished product.

Yes, but that is what he is supposed to do in his 6th year of being a college QB.

Beck was 35th in passing yards per game this past season. 30th in yards per attempt. 32nd in air yards per attempt. 73rd in yards per completion. 29th in TD%. 71st in INT%. and yes, 2nd in comp%. Kyler was also great in completion % with the Cardinals. As we saw, it only means so much.

This is an argument for Clayton Tune.

Look, all I'm saying is, have low expectations. The odds of him being anything more than a mediocre backup are slim.

Well Ron Wolfe used to say, draft a QB in every draft. Hopefully he develops into at least a solid backup, if not more.

He also used to say things like, "He's like a telephone pole with eyebrows!"

I wouldn't trust much of what he says personally. LOL
