I see franchise QB, I hear 2027. Someone might say if you find love, you must be lucky.
Garth, I think it is a very dangerous strategy to take it for granted that you can get your franchise quarterback in 2027. I think that it has been proven many times that analysts cannot reliably project what the market will look like a year from now, and further, the Cardinals can very easily end as number 7-8-9 in line for a potentially available QB.

The future is now, as the saying goes.

True. On the flip side, that doesn't mean you grasp for talent that isn't there and end up with a bad QB choice. The only guy in this draft worthy of a high pick is Mendoza.

Gandhi, I hear you, but I think that Simpson is too much of a question mark. I'm not a talent evaluator but I've read many (experts?) who don't like him. I do think we should pick a QB, Rounds 4-6, but not one in 1-3.

You are pleading. :p No, I agree, but only to an extent. I think that you need to take shots basically all the time, if you don’t have a quarterback. Our disagreement is how early you should do it, I think.

Sure. Starting in the 3rd, take shots if there isn't a top QB available. When there isn't a top QB available, you do not under any circumstances reach for lesser talent. That's how you draft a Kenny Pickett in the 1st round.

I understand your thinking. I am one of the believers that Simpson can be good, but if you don’t think so, the chances of hitting jackpot in the later rounds are really bad. In that perspective, I think it partly becomes a matter of how bad you think it would be to gamble on Brissett or Minshew.

For arguments sake, let’s just say that they pick Simpson in the second round, and it ends up being a wasted pick because he is not good enough. Can you justify to risk “wasting” such high draft capital on trying to fundamentally change your franchise? I don’t know the answer to that.

We should wait until the 6th or 7th round like the 9ers & Patriots did. :bhiich::shock::shades:
