Man man has had a terrible go at defending screens tonight. More than once he ends up screening our own guy creating a wide-open look.

Suns clinch the 7th seed in the West.

Suns clinch the 7-seed with tonight’s win and losses for the Clippers and Blazers. Regardless of what happens from here, pretty incredible achievement for a group most people thought would be downright bad (and they would’ve been a top-6 seed if not for all the injuries)

The “would’ve been a top 6 seed if not for injuries” thing totally ignores that every team in front of them had a bunch of injuries all season too.

Mavs is a bad team, so. But Dunn can become a good rotation player if his defense keeps improving. ManMan's main issues were strength and positioning after switch, and he improved a great deal. Both plus Fleming and Oso cut down on jumping on headfakes a lot, Oso's final block and MM's on Flagg dunk were all results of patience.
Every team has one or two min-salary players with life performance against us, this guy with Greek name and Bagley shot 3s insanely, which kept them in the game.
Gillespie and Bouyea have been timid with their shots, that's weird. Fortunately Brooks stepped up for us to avoid a loss.

i am more than happy with the 7th seed and not because we "overachieved"

it means we'll face atleast 2 teams in the playoffs - win or lose

it means we have a must win game at home with everything on the line - that's invaluable imo

we'll be playing on house money - nothing to lose - if we can find and maintain that hyper focused absolutely fearless mindset we can get some victories to build upon

edit - really hoping ott expands the playoff roster because that 9 player rotation wasn't it - dunn does things no one else does same with manman

If Booker does this against good teams. If Brooks is back to what he was. If the other players hit the three. A lot of if's but they could win a playoff game. Need Dunn and ManMan playing defense I think Oso small ball should be dunn

Yeah, the Suns haven't played well for over 2 months.
at the same time, they're what... .500 in their last 30 games or something like that? I think the beginning of the season really screwed with our expectations.

if you had told me by the end of the year this club was consistently playing .500 ball, I'd be ecstatic considering where I thought they would be.

and we have seen real development, especially from Malauch, who I've got to believe is our Day 1 starter next year. As for blowing 2 first round picks on Williams? If we get into the playoffs, I look at those as the cost of getting our really young guys immediate experience and building a playoff mindset as a foundation for the future.

Still have to look at the overall season which was a surprise and a success. We may very well peter out in the play-in/playoffs and that may be disappointing but we have something to build on going forward.
