Hopefully link works it's from my email, great story on Gary Payton 2 how he grew up and why he is the easygoing guy he is.

For those who don't know who E40 is that he talks about, he's a famous Oakland rapper and longtime Warrior fan, apparently he was GP2's next door neighbor growing up in San Ramon Valley

I forgot what day today’s is. I might sit today out.
LOL, to be fair it would not have been shocking to see Kidd get fired. he's kind of the last domino to fall from the doncic trade. and that's assuming that Finley and the other co-GM are not coming back.

He's an evolution.

Started with guys like Ainge and Divac with dramatic antics and exploded from there. Dirk made falling over after every shot a mainstream thing, Kobe made straight up fouling your defender with an elbow or a forearm shiver the norm.

The league cracked down on defensive bully ball in the late 90s and the evolution is destroying the game. They need to do something... institute "flopping" challenges... I dunno, like 6 years ago the league claimed they would issue retroactive techs for egregious flopping and I think they gave out like 2.

They gotta fix it. I know the rules basically flip in the playoffs and suddenly you're allowed to defend (which is also inexcusable, the rules should be the rules), but it's a joke right now and everyone knows it.
dirk also got bear hugged almost every game, particularly in the playoffs once teams realized that they needed to put a smaller athletic guy on him to take his space away. he had to adjust his game to be more physical and it took him many years to do that. once dirk became more physical he finally got more foul calls and he was a career 89% FT shooter. that was the evolution of his game that earned him a finals mvp. I think the SGA push off is a foul and it should be called. flopping should be called as well, but it's not exactly easy to enforce. In the days of MJ he straight up got beat up in his early days. that is not good basketball either. skill is what people want to see, but the NBA does need to do something to make it more balanced and more watchable. I think there are too many regular season games and too many 3 pointers. I would watch more if the reg games meant something more.

Mark Cuban:

“I don't regret selling. I regret who I sold to… I made a lot of mistakes in the process, and I'll leave it at that.”

(via Intersections podcast, h/t

honestly I don't care for Cuban's interview and attempts to throw others under the bus. on one hand he did some good things in his tenure as an owner, but he made one stupid mistake after the other throughout his tenure. he's the one that hired Nico and Kidd. He's the one that sold the mavericks to people who knew nothing about basketball and had 0 ties to the city of dallas.

May have already been mentioned. Mike D'Antoni, former Suns head coach, will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Warriors were close to acquiring Kawhi Leonard at the deadline before the Clippers pulled out, per timkawakami They are expected to make another aggressive push for him in the offseason.
I like Kawhi. Pairing him with Curry, doesn't that feel like two aging now somewhat injured guys late in their careers is a good move?

I saw on here, Amari, too. That's kinda cool the two going in at the same time.
