Yep. I agree with all of this.

Only way we resign Williams is if we can package him with other players for a better player. Any way you cut it, I really don't think he will be on the Suns roster next year.

weird thing is i have faith in this organization - not used to that at all lol

I think Mark was great for us earlier in the season. We had an inside game and we did not get killed on the boards. Would love to resign him. Also like what I've seen of Highsmith, plus Collin, Goody... Agree though on having more faith than usual in the FO.

How about this for a dream?

Jalen Green, Rasheer Fleming and Khaman Maluach all become stars alongside Devin Booker. Make it happen.

cakes takes significantly longer to bake than cookies - me thinks teams are going to be full of regret next year

9 teams could've taken manman and every one of the 29 other teams could've taken the big flemingo but no one wanted to take the time

some of these 9 teams i get but there are a few that have no excuse - they didn't have championship hopes this year meaning they had all the time in the world to bake a world class cake - meanwhile the suns knew they weren't going on a run so they got mark williams on a 1 year contract and popped that ugandan goodness in the oven

the g-league made all of this possible of course - having a spend happy owner made that possible - was this all foresight or a bob ross happy accident? it was williams and richards at the beginning of the year now it's oso and manman aka the future (on rookie contracts)

far as fleming goes how the funk did he make it to the 2nd round - small school sure but khaman - all the signs were there - and there we went - the team with the least(?) amount of draft picks getting into a bidding war over another cake

as someone who graduated from culinary school i can tell you cake is an art form and the confectionery genius being served by chef jordan is simply delicious - made from scratch - baked with love - you don't put frosting on it you pair the frosting with it

but before the frosting the cake must cool and that's what our offseason will be - im starting to wonder if both maluach and fleming start next year - fleming right away - maybe maluach but if not soon - we ott not question the chef

idk why im so optimistic today - fleming may be the best power forward we've seen since amare and maluach could very well be the best center we've ever had

it's been a decade since stoudemire and forever without a homegrown all-star center - and we still have booker - the future is bright in phx far as im concerned

-- Booker/Maluach duo a 9.4 net rating in 148 minutes
-- Fleming best on/off splits (8.2 net rating on, -0.3 off)

It's not impossible. But I don't see Khaman becoming a star at this point, but his level of improvement has been noticable.

Not sure why you are leaving Jalen Green out, he is way more advanced than the others and still only 24. He just needs to play smarter and more consistent.

Fleming and Khaman were really raw, but with sheer athletic ability. That's a gamble the rebuilding Suns was willing to take, and rewarded with their development over the course of a reason.

competition from within is a good thing right?

i think gillespie felt it the most with the rise of jalen green - book seems to be comfortable and appreciative of jalen's offense where as gillespie is technically starting - but is now the 3rd or 4th scoring option

i think oneale is feeling it too - you don't see fleming and oneale on the court at the same time very often - fleming's minutes continue to grow and it's not due to dillon's injury

and would you want to be oso or williams right now? with maluach literally breathing down their 7 foot necks swallowing more shots than tiger woods?

you're damn right we won that trade - rockets would basically have to win out to match last year's win total - we've already surpassed last year and maluach has only just begun

O'neal should feel it. He is about to be traded. The future is the young cheap athletic wings. Also Highsmith is better than him as well.

Gillespie is the 5th option I would say. Book, Green, Brooks, Allen are all in front of him.

I am actually kind of stunned at how well Maluach is doing to the basic jobs of a center. He is doing a better than average job of defending the rim and defensive rebounding in the last few games. He looks light years better than he did earlier in the year.

I actually think he is playing very close to Mark Williams level already in the last few games.

im geeking out on the maluach possibilities - players don't have to be tall to play for ott but they do have to play defense and im still tripping on 10 rebounds in 8 minutes

allow me to rephrase the question

would a lot of our players be as good elsewhere? jalen and dillon sure but ott's system is built for team success
Very good question. I think it's a little of both. I think we drafted very well. These are smart basketball players with something to prove. And Coach Ott is the perfect one to guide them. And, it's not even just Coach Ott. Booker and Dillon, and even guys like Goody, are great influences. Brooks' work ethic has been legendary.

So, to answer your question, I think they would be good players anywhere but this is the perfect environment for them. Brian Gregory and his team get a lot of credit as well. They decided on a player archetype and a team style of play, drafted those players, and then put them in an environment where they could excel.

I think it's pretty obvious why this pairing works, they are our two best by far at getting rebounds we would otherwise not get.
