Cards will draft a qb but it might not be Simpson. Nussmeier LSU, Beck Miami, & Allar Penn State could all be good development projects and realistically is Simpson any better?? They also will be there on Draft Day two and Cards can get a top player at #3.
I could see us drafting Beck.

- Beck’s arm is shot & throws his team under the bus.

- Allar plays like he has acorns in his head.

- Nuss played mediocre ball for more than a year now.

Yes, Simpson is better than all of them.

Jordan Reid, ESPN, “Alabama's pro day took place Wednesday and multiple scouts in attendance came away impressed with how the ball came off Simpson's hand. "I thought his arm was a little above average on tape, but it's much stronger than I anticipated after seeing him up close," said an NFC executive.”

To me this is the way. Nussmeier might actually turn out to be the best in this class if all the rumors are true about him playing injured last year

Agree with this, and if our new offensive coach wants Simpson at 34 or to trade back up into the 20s like NYG did last year, I am fine with him doing it. I am risk tolerant with missing on a QB in the 20s.

They’re not rumors, he’s now confirmed them. Nonetheless he’s has issues. The injuries raise durability questions. He has a very big ego that prompts him to make risky throws in moments that don’t require urgency. Sometimes he powers the ball on short, touch throws. Like Murray he’ll force the ball to his primary target rather than using progressions. Overall he has skills but should be more advanced technically.

... why?

In terms of skill, stats, experience and age... it's a dog fight with all those guys, and it's not an impressive group.

Moar shorts and shirt throwing praise! He's surely worth drafting higher now!

Mocking the media here, Harry, not you. It's utterly ridiculous.

Please let's not enter this nebulous realm again. We hashed this out on the board last month and we'll never be able to know one way or the other.

"I thought he was slightly above average at a primary skill vs what we saw on tape."

"Now granted there was no defense on the field... when there is a defense he struggles, but we're going to see if we can work something out with the rules committee..."

Yup. I’m not even a huge Simpson fan, and I want Monti to be aggressive in getting him.

That’s ideal I just don’t think he will make it that far down because the lack of other good prospects. If we could get him in that area and still use our top pick for top talent I’m doing a back flip.

They may be the case or not, but drafting him anywhere in round 1 is a joke to me.

Most normal drafts he’d be a third round pick.

not even a dog fight. Beck stands alone over the rest honestly. Dude has as many starts as the others combined.

Just want to point out that he also didn’t throw one pick or take a sack!
