I was all for taking Luka, or Ayton, then trading enough picks to get the second pick and taking the other guy. We can now see how that would have turned out by watching the Lakers.

A lot of ppl say Luka/Book wouldn’t have worked but he went to a Finals with Kyrie and Book went to a Finals with CP3. Great guards can take you places.

That was one bad trade especially for what the Suns got in return: Sam Cassell, Robert Horry and Mark Bryant.

Plus, IIRC, Barkley wanted to be traded to a contender.

I think Danny Manning blowing out his knee in practice killed our shot at a chip that season. Think it was 95? I actually had a job interview at the sports radio station Arnie Spanier was on and heard the announcement when I was in their front office. Huge gut punch, and I didn't get the job, either, heh.
