These changes don't see bad.

It feels so already been there, done that. Now the NBA is revisiting it again.

Legalized gambling is big business, though.

This could be the upside to sports gambling, oddly enough. Being such a big business seems to give them a seat at the table when it comes to way to make the game more competitive. I'm anti-tank so I'm glad to see it being addressed, finally.

This would be the best and possibly unexpected outcome.

Yeah, I can see that going on behind the scene, but I never liked the idea of a player being potentially blackballed, if that were to happen.

Oh I agree with you. I always thought he was the kind of player the Suns needed years ago. He wasn’t a villain but he didn’t back down from stars and stuck up for his teammates.

Enes Kanter Freedom might still help a team. It makes one wonder why he isn't playing in the NBA.

This stuff is always so silly to me. Some washed up player, who never was a positive contributor, being baffled as to why they're gone.

NBA teams are willing to pay millions for dudes who unapologetically beat women... if they're not signing you, it's because you're bad.

No one is black balled, the league has no conscience, they'll pay ANYONE, the Hornets are experiencing a resurgence built around a team with a star player who beat the hell out of a woman, another player who routinely drives his car as recklessly as he drives the lane, he got in a wreck this weekend driving his hummer in the wrong lane, and another guy who's college roommate called him up to deliver his gun so he could shoot his girlfriend to death.

No one is blackballed. I cannot recall a player who's career ended in-spite of still being a quality player.

I disagree regarding Kanter. The league under Silver tries to avoid anything controversial politically because global expansion has been a huge focus of tenure. Kanter being outspoken against Turkey may have been overlooked since he was from there but he also regularly bashed China as well as the NBA's relationship with China. It wasn't just criticizing China though as he drug Nike and LeBron into it, criticizing Nike's work conditions overseas and bashed LeBron spouting Chinese propaganda back when Daryl Morey was got into some trouble for bashing China. Morey's tweet led to China cancelling sponsorship deals and exhibition games. LeBron did rhe PR to smoothe that over, which drew Kanter's ire. Now we're talking about him effecting a huge market for the league, openly criticizing one of it's largest sponsors, and attacking the league's golden boy. That's just a piece of things also as it wasn't limited to that outburst at that time.

In addition to the China, Nike, LeBron stuff, Kanter was named a literal terrorist by Turkey as they put a $500k bounty on him, albeit in Turkish Lyra which equaled about $25k US at the time. They even arrested his father.

Kanter was 29 when he played his last NBA game and was a contributor. He's 7' tall and is more skilled than guys like Nick Richards.

Maybe Adam Silver hasn't sent a directive not to sign him but there's enough there where I can definitely see the totality of everything Enes has been involved in being too much to where teams don't want to deal with him.

The more you read up on Kanter the more believable ir is he was blackballed. Of course he deserves some blame as well. Being in the NBA is a job and if you start ranting regularly about things not related to the job that ends up costing the company money then you shouldn't be surprised they let you go.

I think he is a more serviceable backup than some players in those roles currently. He isn’t a star that is for sure. The ones who get away with all the drama are guys who are stars with a lot of talent I believe.

If Zion Williamson plays as he is expected to tonight (Friday), that will be his 41st game played this season. That will trigger a $16.8M contract guarantee for the 2026-27 season. If Williamson meets various weight conditions, he can trigger an additional $8.4M in guarantees.

From there, at 51 games played, guarantee grows to $25.3M. Then, at 61 games played, guarantee grows to $33.7M

Full guarantee of $42.2M would come by playing in 61 games and meeting various weight conditions, or on July 15.

There is a list of players I considered blackballed, shunned from the NBA, while still being a positive contributor.

IMO, Joe Caldwell is one of those players.

The price difference in D.C. is absolutely insane: Get-in price for Wizards-Pacers tonight is just $16.

Tickets to the Michigan-Duke game tomorrow start at $319 in the SAME ARENA.

I like some of the new NBA anti-tanking proposals.

By Shams Charania. Feb 19, 2026, 05:12 PM ET, ESPN:
  • First-round draft picks can be protected only for top-four or top-14-plus selections
  • Lottery odds freeze at the trade deadline or a later date
  • No longer allowing a team to pick in the top four in consecutive years and/or after consecutive bottom-three finishes
  • Teams can't pick in the top four the year after making the conference finals
  • Lottery odds allocated based on two-year records
  • Lottery extended to include all play-in teams
  • Flatten odds for all lottery teams

"...driving around Charlotte like he thinks this is mother (hecking) Gotham..."

Is a hilarious line.

Kevin Durant’s entire full-time media and entertainment staff at his company, Boardroom, were all just laid off without notice, per
@Phil_Lewis_
.

Last week, Durant was involved in a viral situation related to a potential burner account.

The Washington Wizards are signing two-way center Tristan Vukcevic to a new three-year, $9 million deal, sources tell ESPN. Team option in third season. The Wizards and the 7-footer's agent, Jason Ranne of Wasserman, reached the new contract Saturday.

They need to do a better job of controlling his various burner accounts! Hopefully, the next group will do better.

I'm more surprised he had a PR team.
