I agree with @Chopper0080 about the QBs that Mike has worked with in the past, nothing like Kyler, but I've been watching his Jets offense and I think he'd love a genuine mobile QB.

There's lots of misdirection. Tonnes of motion, PA, fakes tosses, trick plays, naked bootleg etc. Just a tonne of stuff going on in the back field to get the defense looking the wrong way.

Not hard to see how he'd like to add a QB that can run to that.
Still feel like it would be another qb. Klayton Adams said kyler doesn't even like to run and thats not first time we been hearing this stuff

I'm dubious about taking Schotty's 2nd hand retelling of Adams opinion.

I find it hard to think Kyler doesn't LIKE running considering how much he's done and how often he turns down a pass to scramble. I'm sure he prefers to pass than run, it's easier on him and less physical risk, but there's no way he's going to refuse it.

It’s a deranged thing to make up and smear someone with.

I’m sure it’s directionally true. A lot of effective plays have come out of the playbook for Kyler over the years.

Kyler running style is unique in he doesn't want to get touch to the extreme. How many slide short of sticks have we seen to avoid a hit. If he can run and go untouched of course he would run but thats not going be all the time you will have to take some type of contact which he wont, which also effects his ability in the pocket of not wanting to get hit at all.

Definitely contact averse.

Welp. I guess the countdown until the "Kyler Murray Traded to the (Team Name) for a (number) Round Pick" thread appears has begun.

Could be any minute now.
They have 30 or so days...I think you will see convo pick up around March 1. Deadlines makes deals, and teams are still developing their plans for the new year. Lots of new coaches generally means more internal convos for the near future.

It can’t and won’t until at least after the Super Bowl. I don’t think anything’s announced before March 5.

New league year is March 12. Combine starts Feb 23.

On Burns and Gambo, they interviewed ML and he was initially very evasive about Kyler Murray and they kept poking and got to his personal opinion.

He then got excited and said he has faced him in the division for 5 years and he's a real problem to play against.

Then he almost immediately got back to the canned responses of it's up to Monti.

Take it for what you will

The fact that MLF said the same talking points as MO about Kyler it is clear that they will be trading or cutting him.

People need to start being prepared for Kirk Cousins vs Malik Willis vs Daniel Jones discussions until FA.

Jones probably won’t be ready with his torn Achilles. Cousins forget about it.

Brit, remember that this is the same guy who said that he doesnt need to kill himself studying film as he just "sees things" and makes the right pass. I can totally see him saying this lol

I'm not saying it's made up. But it's chinese whispers.

Kyler tells someone he prefers to pass, that person tells Klayton a different version, Klayton tell Schotty something else and by the time Schotty repeats it Kyler hates running.

Kyler has thousands of rushing yards in his career, many of them his choice, I don't think that shows he hates it. It certainly makes no practical difference to whether it's going to happen or not.

I can see him saying he hates getting hit when he runs though.

The Malik Willis hype is absurd.

Dude has 2 games in the league with more than 20 pass attempts.

He has 3 starts in GB in 2 years where he had 14 attempts, 19 attempts and 21 attempts.

Jordan Love averages over 30 passes a game, so MLF was game planning for Willis to pass as little as possible.

There's some signs of promise there, but 3rd best option available? Nah.

Or Klayton could have heard Kyler say it multiple times and shared that with Schott, who relayed it to the media.

I don’t know why you’re completely mischaracterizing the quote right now.

No Steelers or Jets for Kingsbury. Still surprised the Giants didn't get him for Dart. Either college or he accepts a non play calling OC job with the Raiders or Bears imo.

Kyler's market will tell us if the NFL is over that style of offense/QB.
