Hear me out, but maybe he's getting a role because Kedon Slovis is backup with Kyler out. Kylers role is probably the same as last week, thr 3rd emergency QB.

Same injury? I’m pretty sure they said Purdy had turf toe? Didn’t they say Kyler has a mid foot sprain? Which is more of a plantar issue? Would love to see a single reliable publication saying Kyler has turf toe as well?

The team just said a strain in the foot, which can mean anything. Here is an actual doctors assessment.

Could have a role? If he’s healthy enough to play, he should play… not in some kind of limited role. What kind of sense does that make?

Obviously, all we fans can do is speculate... However, I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that many other top NFL QB's, who have been as active Kyler has - though obviously not playing, would've found their way into the starting QB spot on Monday night. IMO, there is far more going on here than a supposed "foot sprain."
It's either or all of the following:

- Kyler knows his days with the Cards are quickly coming to an end and he's checking out.
- Gannon/Monti/Mike B. now are convinced their best chance to be competitive and maybe squeak out a W or two, is with JB as opposed to Kyler.

But it's gonna take a TON of hardcore evidence to convince me that Kyler's foot sprain is the reason why he's not starting Monday night!
