These second shot guys often end up better.Wish now we would have drafted dart and sat him a half a season or so behind Murray …then trade Murray

o-line sucks i'll give you that but 5th string running back and we're pulling 400 yards per game against indy and green bay so idkHere’s a question I have, can I good coach be successful with a bad GM?
A full house sweep may be in order.
Yeah I was really talking about our new HC next year, will he be able to be successful with Monti lolo-line sucks i'll give you that but 5th string running back and we're pulling 400 yards per game against indy and green bay so idk
our defense is also talented imo - i don't know what's going on with rallis
id rank hc/coordinators as biggest concern
I think I’m done with hiring the “defensive” coach approach, it’s failed miserably now in back to back attempts with JG and Steve Wilks.Would Saleh be better on a 2nd coaching try
Like a BAD GM? I dunno. Here’s a question I have, can I good coach be successful with a bad GM?

How is Monti not bad?Like a BAD GM? I dunno.
A good coach can be successful with a mediocre GM. It’s hard to be actively bad at GM because so much of the role is just managing and implementing process. Guys usually get fired for bad luck or a handful of high-leverage decisions that don’t work out or because they got outmaneuvered by someone else in the org.
I don’t think Monti is bad, but someone in this org has to be good if the team is gonna be good, and you maximize your choices by cleaning out everyone.
I mean the trains run on time and there’s a strategy in place. He doesn’t seem to be caught unawares all that often. How is Monti not bad?
Why do you do this?I mean the trains run on time and there’s a strategy in place. He doesn’t seem to be caught unawares all that often.
Monti isn’t below average on his hit rate on draft picks; many/most of these guys can play in the NFL. He has been unlucky on the guys who have gotten injured from these classes, and in FAs like Nichols, etc.
Cut and paste from Keim threads lolWhy do you do this?
Because it’s factual. What does a bad GM look like? Why do you do this?
Check the winning percentage? Who they hire as HC?Because it’s factual. What does a bad GM look like?
a bad GM probably looks like someone that most automatically assume would choke on a high QB pick in the next draft.Because it’s factual. What does a bad GM look like?
I said that’s why they get fired, but our winning percentage isn’t what it is because Monti acquired a bunch of bad players. It’s what it is largely because of bad luck and injured players.Check the winning percentage? Who they hire as HC?

You know… like you did in another post in another thread like five minutes ago.
Yeah in the past I thought going the retread route was just foolish, but he actually is a retread who did well in recent history.Honest question: if we decide to draft a QB would someone like Mike McCarthy really be such a terrible choice? I am really tired of that "find the new McVay" thing.
You must be ready to chase Ryan Poles out of Chicago in that caseCheck the winning percentage? Who they hire as HC?
Quick: do some quick research and find out how many GMs the Cards have had since Michael Jordan retired. The Cards have changed GMs like I change shirts.
I know Keim and Graves were around a long time. Still I think Bidwill, senior & junior, made most of the big decisions. Graves was a GM in name only. When Dollar Bill ran things he wouldn’t pay for free agents, trade for expensive players or even draft big time prospects. If they did draft them in the AFL days, they didn’t sign them, remember Joe Namath. Technically you’re correct, but Keim and Ossenfort were the most real GMs.Quick: do some quick research and find out how many GMs the Cards have had since Michael Jordan retired.
The answer may surprise you.
Keim was hired/promoted in 2013 and served for 10 years. How, exactly, is this changing GMs like you “change shirts?”I know Keim and Graves were around a long time. We'd have to trade for him, probably a 1st round pick. This might not be popular, but I'd back the Brinks truck up if there was even the possibility of Bowles being available. Dude can still flat out coach and call a defense.
He knows AZ, knows Bidwill and that BS. He just needs to have someone he can trust with the offense.
