I hate coaching that treats 3 mins left in the game drives with a lead of a FG or less as if the main goal is to make the other team burn timeouts -- rather than getting first downs.
First down call: first Kyler designed run of the game. Excellent call that sets up 2nd and 1. this converts.
1st and 10 / 2:18 left. THIS IS PLAY ACTION / SHORT PASS time. A play that has been working all day long. Worst case you tell Kyler to eat it getting up field. Instead we get another Kyler run, which now SF knows to honor. 1 yard gain.
2nd and 9. With 2nd and long -- My POV at this point is that getting a first down is WAYYYYY more important than the clock / TOs. You have to pass here. Play action again.

Also funny that MHJ was running a post route and then broke back to the corner when he saw Kyler rolling out. He was trying to help his QB.

Basically what he is saying is that he has final say over the offense. It's not quite as unhinged as what you make it out to be. It does however beg the question, what is going to change for this team/offense and if nothing changes, how are they going to trot out the same group next season and expect fans to be ok with it.

It literally takes a Herculean effort to get a first down with this offense. My eagles fan friend (who was fully hammered at the time) remarked to me "why does it seem like 3rd and short is like 3rd and 15 for you guys?". I had no retort.

Just one time I'd like to see them sneak it with Kyler, defense wouldn't expect it. It would then open up a bootleg or keeper around the end in the future. Maybe that's too wild for the Petzing scheme though
