I miss the days of K1 throwing for 250 and having 50+ yards rushing in a Cardinals loss. At least then we could blame other for the loss instead of complaining about a win.
I don't think anyone is complaining about a win - it's good to win! But it's also good to win a lot, and this team didn't show any signs of being a team that is going to win a lot.

After 2 seasons of deliberate non-competitive football, I wanted to see more.

Cardinals finally win the Lombardi in a 9-3 nailbiter.
Cardinals fans , " Man, this team suxx!! we didnt score a single touchdown...we didnt break a single super bowl record...why the hell does kyler get the MVP when he only passed for 180 yards?? Been waiting 40 years and the team delivers this crap?? what the hell!!"

we won a lot in 2021.
we won in week one in 2021.
we lost in week one every year since 2021.
we won in week one this year.

Thats a positive indicator of progression. As is winning an eastern game in the 10am time slot...that has been a death sentence for us for a very long time.

Might be a direct result of JG changing up how the team travels...leaving saturday morning instead of friday night.

I would actually say the last two seasons were very competitive, in spite of the roster, especially after Kyler came back...just didn't translate into more wins than losses.

(a) New Orleans is in the Central Time Zone.
(b) As I've noted before, and will now update to include last year's results, this is flat-out wrong. For 5 years in a row up to last year, the Cardinals did as well or better in the Eastern time zone than overall - and as well or better than they've done at home!

2019: 5-10-1 overall, 2-5-1 at home, 2-2 in ET (W Bengals, Giants) (L Ravens, Buccaneers)
2020: 8-8 overall, 4-4 at home, 2-2 in ET (W Jets, Giants) (L Panthers, Patriots)
2021: 11-6 overall, 3-5 at home, 2-1 in ET (W Jaguars, Browns) (L Lions)
2022: 4-13 overall, 1-8 at home, 1-1 in ET (W Panthers) (L Falcons)
2023: 4-13 overall, 2-6 at home, 2-2 in ET (W Steelers, Eagles) (L Commanders, Browns)

Kingsbury: 28-37-1, 10-22-1 at home (!), 7-7 in ET
Gannon: 4-13 overall, 2-6 at home, 2-2 in ET
Last 5 years: 32-50-1 overall, 12-28-1 at home (!), 9-9 in ET

Last year was the first year since the Arians regime that the Cards did worse in the Eastern time zone than overall (though if the Panthers OT game had gone the other way, the streak would have continued):
2024: 8-9 overall, 6-3 at home, 1-2 in ET (W Dolphins) (L Bills, Panthers)

Dig into those splits and find eastern... with the early game...later start seems to be less an issue

Sure. Among all the games I listed, 4:05pm ET games account for two wins (2021 @ Cleveland, 2022 @ Carolina).

That brings the totals to:
Kingsbury: 28-37-1 overall (.432), 10-22-1 at home (.333), 6-7 in ET 1pm starts (.462).
Gannon: 4-13 overall (.235), 2-6 at home (.250), 1-2 in ET 1pm starts (.333)
Last 5 years: 32-50-1 overall (.369), 12-28-1 at home (.305), 7-9 in ET 1pm starts (.437).

The point remains that for 5 years in a row under two coaching and front office regimes up until 2024 the Cardinals had a better record in ET early games than overall or in home games.

2024 was the first year since 2018 under Arians and Keim that the Cardinals were worse in the Eastern time zone (1-2) than overall or at home. Winning east coast early games hasn't been a problem for over half a decade.
