No way around it that this is bad news. Hope his season is not lost like Robinson's was last year. :bang:
Difference is Nolen’s injury happened right before TC while I think DRob’s injury happened on the last day of TC if I remember correctly. It won’t be until November until we see Nolen like DRob’s.

better before camp than at the end - gotta hydrate in july az - stretching more crucial here but it is what it is and at least nolen isn't grieving in a major way - we don't know if the calf is d-rob bad but hopefully we learned a lot

    • Grade 1 (Mild):
    • Minimal muscle fiber damage. Symptoms include pain with movement, but the calf muscle can still function normally. Recovery typically takes 1-3 weeks.

    • Grade 2 (Moderate):

Partial muscle tear. Symptoms include pain with movement and loss of strength. Recovery can take 3-6 weeks, and sometimes longer.

    • Grade 3 (Severe)

Complete muscle tear or rupture. Symptoms include severe pain, inability to contract the muscle, and potential palpable defect. Recovery can take several months, and may require surgery.

I strained my calf (mid 40’s ) and took about 6 months or so with no Dr. Twice thought I was healed only to strain it again. Hope he’s a grade 1

Knowing how Gannon handled Robinson’s injury last year we won’t see Nolen on the field until game 3 or 4 at the earliest:(

This is the perfect excuse to start Nolen on IR...then give that UDFA we heard so much about an opportunity for some live fire experience... then in October or so....move the walk on to the PS and reactivate Nolen... the guy has a better chance to stick on the PS once all the final rosters are set

You'll see plenty of Elijah Simmons...

... in the third and fourth quarter of the preseason games

Edited how?
Still spelled Nolen wrong.
Still says our top draft pick is hurt.
What changed?

I can't imagine they would IR Nolen during the pre-season because that would make him ineligible to play all of 2025, but this is a reminder that Nolen will still have to be one of the 53 to make the roster.

It stinks but not devastating. I didn't think he'd be much of a factor until later in the season anyway.
Once Wadsworth hit the field back in the day he was an immediate factor the opposing team had to deal with unlike Robinson last year.

I’m hoping Nolen’s impact will be similar to Wadsworth without the bad knees.

Andre Wadsworth's rookie season was also 27 years ago. The league is a little different today. Man, he signed the day before the Cards first game. And he played the next day. That's crazy.

Unfortunately, this (probably) isn't a holdout where dude is staying in shape and working out. The only way for this injury to get better is to rest it. Then after the rest he has to get back into game shape.

Hoping for the best; there really isn't much line players can do in training camp these days, anyway.

And the OGs are not very good; KM likely on his back a lot. OG Zavel was there and guess who got him and got better; Seattle. Guess who got M. Williams and has the easiest schedule; 49ers. Guess who will essentially get nothing out of their 1st round draft pick for 2 years straight; Cards. And the latest before he even played any real football in a game, before TC. If you go sec go Bama, Georgia or LSU, not Missouri, Old Miss. Robinson wasn't even a 1st rounder and was reached for.

My point was if indeed Nolen is the wrecking ball we hope he will be missed from day one.

Based on some of the practice vids he’s got some “sloppy” weight on him. Thought he’d be a little more stout looking tbh.

We got nothing from MHJ? He was our 1st round pick. Robinson came from Houston's pick. Also, we don't know the severity of Nolans calf. This is chicken little stuff right here.
