I would trade Suarez, Gallen and Kelly. Who knows, maybe any of those three would like to come back and re-sign in the offseason. I will be pissed if the Diamondbacks don't trade Suarez. He is probably the top player to trade before the deadline.

You're gonna pay as much, or more, to replace his production. Lawlar ain't it.

Do you think the Diamondbacks should keep Suarez and try to re-sign him? He will be asking for a lot of money, plus he is 34 years old. I would rather give Lawler or someone else a shot at third than stick with Suarez for the next 4 years. The Diamondbacks can get a lot of prospects if they traded him. His value will never be higher than it is now.

Kendrick has shown a willingness to spend money so I don’t see why he wouldn’t be willing to sign Suarez to an extension. I would hold these guys feet to the fire and say if you don’t wanna get traded, and let’s sign a team for the extension right now.

Problem with Suarez is he is as likely to spend the rest of the season on a massive slump as he is to continue on the tear he’s been on.

Not sure if this deal is the best they can do but I would be happy about it.

Geno will fetch anywhere from $150m - $175m in the open market... I really can't see Kendrick signing-up for that amount of money for a non-pitcher/everyday player who will be 35 next summer. Frankly, I can't say I blame him, especially when a trade should net a haul that SHOULD positively impact this team for years to come.

My bet is that all but one of Geno, Gallen, Kelly, Gurriel and Naylor will be dealt. There will also likely be one or two others packaged with those guys, like Beeks for instance. My gut is the team will somehow work to settle on a deal with Kelly and the rest are GONE. We'll soon see I guess.

I can see them holding onto Gallen, QO and if someone buys we get the pick, if not get him fairly cheap and hope he has a rebound year .

The QO offer is predicted to be roughly $21m. I can see an case where Gallen might even be enticed to take that offer and use 2026 as the year to re-establish himself as a top-tier/#1 ace. More likely he goes out and secures a long-term deal...in the range of 5 years at $20-$25m per.
The question is, does the team go this route and roll the dice on the compensatory pick - which could likely be a high-round pick... Or, seek the trade and attempt to get back more proven, top-level talent. Should be interesting...

Likely won't be worse than this season has been... and, with any luck and if Hazen can continue to perform as one of the top GM's in the game, there is a chance the next two seasons will be far from sucky...

I guess I just don’t see them getting much back for Gallen. If they can than go for it. I’m not interested in some fringe guy though, I would rather have the extra bonus pool money in a pretty deep draft next year.

Every team is looking for another solid arm in the rotation. This season is a clear outlier for Gallen, as every previous year (with the exception of 2021 when he was injured), he's had a sub-4 and in a few instances, a sub-3 ERA. I am certain there will be many, many teams interested in him. As always, it's up to the GM to navigate all of that in ways that produce the greatest return.
