They need to improve on that, but 20 turnovers was middle of the pack. They were 20th in takeaways & that’s the number that absolutely must improve if we want to make the playoffs.

Negative plays determine a games outcome more then positive plays. I never forget about incompletions, most dismiss them but next to to turnover or tackle for loss - they are devastating to pass happy football we seen 2 decades before Gannon.
The amount of 3 and outs we had was crucial, pass pass pass like cards hair was on fire - well more then 2/3rds of the time overall, but that was not a correct number, even with the lead addicted to the pass allergic to the run.
That is high risk football, team needs to earn play action and rpo production by respecting NFL defenses.

I like what we got going on now. Risk reduction is a viable long term strategy employed by dynasties, that cards limp on.

Been awhile since I saw the stat but it used to be a possession in the NFL was worth about 3 points. Google says 2 to 2.3 now which seems low to me but I'll accept it since that's what it says. So it's a 4 point swing every turnover.

It's of course why teams with way more takeaways than turnovers tend to win games.

Last year the average drive resulted in 2.07 points. Average Cards drive was worth 2.32 points.
