Great RB, but not a very smart man. Star Tribune article, behind a pay wall, said that he had 4 passengers in the vehicle as well. 40, driving drunk (again), speeding (28 over the limit), with passengers in the vehicle. SMH. Could no one call for a ride?

Adrian Peterson faces DWI charge in Minnesota after arrest following Vikings draft party

Former star running back Adrian Peterson was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early Friday in Minnesota after appearing at an NFL draft party for Vikings fans.

According to Hennepin County jail records, Peterson was booked at 5:16 a.m. and released from custody at 7:31 a.m. on a $4,000 bond. The 40-year-old faces a fourth-degree misdemeanor charge of driving while impaired and a court date in Minneapolis on May 9.

State Patrol Lt. Mike Lee told the Minnesota Star Tribune that a trooper observed Peterson driving 83 mph in a 55-mph zone and administered a preliminary breath test that measured his blood alcohol content at 0.14%. The legal limit for driving in Minnesota is 0.08%.

Peterson was traveling on a suburban freeway about 8 miles south of U.S. Bank Stadium, where the Vikings held their public event around the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night. Peterson was one of several former Vikings players who took part in the festivities.

Well, alcohol can alter one’s mental state.

His real problem is his mental state before drinking, in my opinion.

How can you question the mental state of someone who offers sound financial advise like this:

It isn't the worst advice in the world. I'd rather someone spend $5 on penny stocks than on Starbucks...

This has nothing to do with football.
Plenty of threads dealing with players. The thread also has a title and amazingly - if you do not click into the thread - you do not have to read or follow the thread.

He has not. He loves to tell everyone about it, too. I think he has the google alert for NFL DUI set so he can be the first to castigate another bad decision.
That's why I knew about this right after the draft but waited to post it. Oh, okay.

The actions of this guy off the field make me glad we picked Levi over him.

Adrian - pleaded no contest in the reckless assault of his son (plea deal avoided jail time - still was suspended by the Vikings), defaulted on several loans and was ordered to pay back the creditors, had a verbal argument with his wife on a plane leaving L.A. for Houston which caused the flight to return to L.A. so he could be placed under arrest, and now this latest DUI. Just not a smart man. In his case, the DUI is just the latest domino. He's 40 and he hasn't gotten any better at handling life apparently.
