We did the same thing with him last year, gave him some, he added a different dynamic we had been missing and wasn't too much a negative. New coach and we are back to square one with his production and development. Insert him, and once again, showing more than flashes. We need to keep him and continue his development. We can't just continue to shun guys for no reason. I see Bol as part of our youth and future, much like Dunn and Oso.
The Damien Lee's are the guys that need to go.

Nurk at first was more than an adequate replacement. Nobody could have predicted he was going to fall off a cliff. Because Nurk fell off a cliff, Richards has been a more consistence presence and can actually move. There is simply no defending Ayton or Nurk on the court. It's easy to sit back and say well those were bad trades because it cost us picks. Well...when you have a bad situation with players it's no secret. Other teams know it. I would have been OK waiting to trade Ayton in the off-season. However, you were never going to move Nurk without throwing in a pick. I think Crowder proved for a time he DID fit the Suns mold. He didn't fit Monty's mold. I would LOVE to have a Crowder on this team.
Oh and Monty wasn't blameless with Ayton either but Ayton has been and always will be a massive headcase and disappointment. Just look at how he still runs his mouth about how good he is even when he doesn't back it up consistently in Portland. He still thinks he is a Super max player. Are the Suns better off? No they are not but it's because this mix of players doesn't fit. This team is not devoid of talent though. That doesn't mean keeping Ayton and Nurk would have been the right moves either.

In the old NBA, the general thinking is you never trade big for small. Off course there's exceptions. However, we actually proved that old thinking because each trade we continue to get smaller and slower. The only trade we gained size is Richards. Overall, this team has become slower and smaller after the KD trade. That's where we went wrong. We surrounded Booke and KD with shooters to make the offense more dangerous, right? Spread the floor and shoot more threes? Yet, Coach Bud has to beg these guys to get up more threes. Also, while looking at shooter only guys, we stripped the team of defensive players. It's no wonder we can't guard the three or the paint. Let's get more three point post up shooters please. The shorter the better. Foot speed not required.

If you listen to analysts and even some of this forum, bigs were a thing of the past. It was all about guards/wings and 3 point shooting. At least that was the conventional wisdom. I think you have a solid point but I think it's more than that. I think the team just doesn't fit well together. How many times have we seen teams field "super teams" in sports loaded with talent that fell flat on their faces? Sometimes it's not about talent. Chemistry and fitting together is a thing. You can't do it on chemistry and comradery alone but there has to be balance.
our season officially ended last night - there's beyond no excuse - this team isn't up for any task - no more coaches - there's no phil jackson to put this puzzle together - we have 3 of the same pieces and the other pieces don't fit - cancel it
biggest thing to me was zion - doing the same damn thing every time down the stretch and us doing zero differently to stop it - at one point bud (with like a minute left) finally yelled at kd to "just foul him!" because nobody was helping or even blocking Zion's preferred tried and true route to the mother****** basket - beyond pathetic - beyond no heart - beyond unsalvageable

I see this in football on the good teams. They pick players from college teams and similar NFL philospied teams to build on that chemistry. It's like we just looked at shooting percentages, and picked guys based on that metric. Occasionally an Okogie or Jae Crowder would slip in and look amazing compared to the bulk of what we have. It's clear that all the teams in the Western Conference have a blueprint where they have gotten bigger and younger. Quietly, bigger players are making a resurgence in the NBA. Now we are seeing that not just at center but all the positions.

We keep being told how much of a train wreck both Sacramento 3.5 games up on us, and Portland 1 game back of us are. Both teams they keep saying can't make the playoffs. I think the media is actually whitewashing our squad's chances of getting in. We are 3.5 games back of the 10th spot! WTF?
if sactown and potland both tank we may be forced to play in the play-in but i seriously doubt it considering our schedule - i just don't think they can tank hard enough

Right now I would be shocked if the team wins any more games - even 1. They are that bad.
I have also decided coach Bud must be fired, I know Ishbia is on the hook for him for 40 million more or something, but he has been much worse than Frank, who I really don't think was a good coach either.

let beal know exactly what's happening - he's going to start (if he's ever healthy) so we can build his trade value and try to ship him to a team that he won't absolutely hate

I'm not sure if Bud should be fired. I won't be upset if he is. I think a decision needs to be made this off-season though where it's Bud or JJ, maybe both. If Bud is kept on then he should take over for JJ as GM. Let him try to salvage what he can. I suspect he'll send most players away and that's fine but the key part is allowing him to get a team of players he wants. This team doesn't resemble the Bucks or Hawks he coached at all.
I'm not saying that's the only way forward but I think it's only way forward with Bud as coach. JJ has to go.

Yep, this is the most depressing Suns team since the John hot rod Williams season that ended the Barkley era.
There have been much worse teams to be sure, but we expected those teams to be bad.

I'm a little surprised by the reaction to Bud tell Booker to quiet it down. That seemed to be the biggest knock on Booker here over the years, that he talks too much trash and whines to the refs too often, so a coach trying to correct that gets the fans to side with the player and label the coach as a problem? I don't know.
It doesn't always need to be a negative, the Suns provide enough negatives 48 minutes a night, 3 nights a week.
