Give Ben Simmons a chance.

A team would want a boatload of assets to take on Ben Simmons' contract, not to mention matching salaries.

Agreed. Marion was a much better rebounder but even if you factor in Shawn's advantage on the defensive boards, Bridges is still the superior defender. IMO Bridges is probably the best defender we've had although I could make a good case for Cliff Robinson too.

Unless Chris Paul retires after this season (thereby freeing payroll), how can the Suns possibly afford to keep Cameron Johnson?
Some of Cams money is locked up in players atm. ie Shamet maybe CP3 if he keeps playing like he is they will find a way.

They will not let Cam get away, unless it is a package to get KD or something.

Whether it was our coach, our system or DJ himself, his defense just didn't seem as impactful in Phoenix as it had been in Seattle. By the time he left I'd convinced myself his reputation was greatly exaggerated. Of course I had to change my mind once he turned up the heat as a Celtic but regardless, I'd put his defense in Phoenix closer to a late career Raja Bell than in Mikal or Cliffy's class. Unfortunately our defense has been so porous over the years, even DJ's mediocre stretch with us is still better than most defenders we've had.

It wouldn't. About the only worse shooter than Westbrook is Ben Simmons.

They would still probably do it, but trading garbage for garbage doesn't accomplish much.

It doesn't fit the rumor about the Nets acquiring a shooter, but a trade involving a contract like this would likely be attractive to Brooklyn.

They have three years left of Simmons's contract.

I see Durant renewing his effort to get out of Brooklyn before the trade deadline based upon the way the situation is right now.

The hypothetical trade above was all about the Nets trying to get rid of Simmons's contract.

.
Welcome to Phoenix.

:sarcasm:

This probably means that the Nets offered Simmons to the Suns for Booker, the Suns hung up, and someone with the Nets decided to leak it just to make it sound like they're trying to do something.

James Jones likes where the Suns are now but it's early in the season. He will monitor the trade market and do what is best for the team.

Below is a link to his interview on Arizona Sports today.

No news on a Jae Crowder trade?

What do you guys think about trading him for a hurt player? Like Lonzo Ball for example.
