Has there been talks at all about getting Adam Jones locked up for at least 3 more years? Don’t want to see him go back to his home town San Diego for a discount. I was pumped when they signed him to the year contract, but now it’s time to get him for long term. He’s been an absolute stud

More likely he is traded at the deadline. Man I hope this teams pitching steps up and they stay competitive though.

Bally’s Sports needs to go away
I'd give him another year if we have him after the deadline. Maybe 2 more years. Depends on what prospects we have, how far away from the pros they are. He has been a plus for this team for sure.

He's a pro, worthy of a two year deal no matter who we may have in the minors, which ain't a whole lot right now.

Good insurance if Dyson can't stay above .270.

Diamondbacks’ Adam Jones hopes to return, content with reserve role
Adam Jones is proud of what he accomplished this season. He was healthy all year and highly productive for stretches. And, perhaps just as important in his mind, he made an impact in the clubhouse.

Jones knows he is no longer viewed as an everyday player, but he sounds perfectly content having filled a role as an extra outfielder/veteran influence. He hopes to have the same role next season, either again with the Diamondbacks or with another club.

“I get that I’m not the franchise player that I was,” Jones said. “That was awesome. Who wouldn’t want to be that? I had my reign. I made salary for it and all that stuff. That’s great.

Edit: Oh jeez i thought this thread was started recently.
Yes, saying BUMP would have made it clear.

With the probability that David Peralta has passed his prime, Jones
has sure made more of a contribution than Rojas, who replaced the
Freight Train in LF and offered nothing at-bat. Or in the field, for
that matter. Outfield or infield.

Just because a player has played multiple positions, he can play
only one at a time. And the less opportunity Torey has to shift
players between two or three positions in a game, the more
consistent the team would be. And the less collisions.

But you never know with the D-backs. They play favorites,
even to the detriment of the team. Player moves seem to
have not been based upon skills or stats.

With the whole season now in the rearview, the best approach is to play younger talent if they can. Did Varsho play some outfield? Souza will be given one more shot as well, imo.
