I made the mistake of watching them play. Had I just read the stories about their workouts, I'd probably be in love with them too. For me, the rationalization, if we take Knox, will be that he is very young - easily young enough to erase some of my concerns. For Walker, I guess I could grasp at the fact he was recovering from a meniscus tear. Of course, that's also one of the reasons I don't want him.

My gut tells me the Suns are taking Holiday at 16, too. Not a devastating disappointment or anything... just not what I would see as maximizing value with their picks. I think they can get a probable backup PG of equal quality to Holiday at 31.

It is much like with the pick of Reed last year - I am relatively certain he would have still been there at the Alec Peters pick, and quite possibly drifted through to UFA. Regardless of that, the more obvious choice of Jordan Bell, who lots of us were clamoring for when he was still sitting on the board, was the correct move... and one which they outsmarted themselves on.

His linked in page says he lives in LA so I'm guessing he's a UCLA fan. I like Holiday but not as the best PG in the draft.

Kellan Olson over the last 3 years has been dead wrong about the draft.

In 2016 he loved Bender, Luwawu those were his candidates at 4. He had Jaylen Brown outside. Top 10 I think.
In 2017 he wrote that Ntilikina is the BPA and best pick for the Suns at #4 while having Tatum outside the top 10 and Adebayo outside the top 40.

The Suns attract a sort of LA Lite type of fair weather fanbase. It's odd because they're loud during the offseason but you don't hear much while the season is ongoing, when everyone is playing and they can't just make ridiculous predictions.

I'd still be surprised if Bell ends up contributing for another team. He landed on the perfect team for his style of play. The Warriors are using him better than virtually any other team could have. He's sort of a small ball Center there but without the other Warriors around him, who knows what he'd contribute.

The more I think about Holiday at 16 the more I can accept it.

There is not any room for our 16th pick to be a star anyway. Accepting your role is an extremely undervalued attribute. Can‘t have a roster full of young guys trying to be a star.
With Holiday you get a rookie who is not really a reach, probably won‘t have any of the typical rookie problems since he knows NBA life and is turning 22. He knows how to be a pro, that alone and the positive effect that might have on Ayton too might be worth drafting Holiday instead of someone with high potential but maybe bad habits, immaturity etc..

Um no, he is a reach.

Better to go with Carter or Brunson than him at 16 if you are dead set on a PG. Bottom line no PG is likely worthy of the 16th pick unless sexton somehow slides.

I think the Sixers are trying to copy the Celtics building plan some, collecting as many picks as they can. They may have interest in the Bucks pick next year and some salary cap relief. They can't sign a max free agent this summer without moving Jerryd Bayless' contract. I think he's set to make 9 million for this upcoming season. Wouldn't be a bad swap, IMO. They get a pick next year in the middle of the round and also have money for a max free agent. We could send back the 16th pick or the 31st pick if they still want to add someone they've seen from this draft class also.

I can live with Knox being drafted at #16 if the Suns do not move up for a PG. Knox reminds me a bit of Tatum or Kuzma.

Calipari made that Knox to Tatum comp too and maybe he's right but Kevin showed nowhere near the instincts that Tatum showed last season.
