Dont think it effects draft much, teams he would extend with dont have top picks... Boston, Lakers. I see those two teams bidding against each other.

You gotta think Boston has the best potential offer with the Memphis and Sac pics in their pocket plus a nice stable of young players. I wonder if they would trade Hayward or Irving.

Maybe a consolation prize for whoever doesn't get James. But that's only if the Spurs agree to trade him, which I doubt they will.

it's best for us if Spurs trade him East and don't get full value in return.
and that's what they should do

they're still in the Lebron hunt if they get back a star and sign another

Doesn't the fact that he sat out when cleared to play, and now he wants to force his way out, give you just a bit of pause. Maybe this kid has other problems. SA is a stellar franchise.

Those two elements give me the biggest pause.

And his requested teams are questionable at best. Reportedly wants to go to the Knicks or Lakers. I can't see either being a great fit to help him win and New York doesn't have the assets outside of Porzingis. Not sure what will happen. Boston would be a great fit and I could see them offering Jaylen Brown and picks, which might get interest from San Antonio. Terry Rozier is a PG who Pop could mold to replace Tony Parker. I know they also have Patty Mills and Dejounte Murray but Murray is more of a SG, IMO. Rozier could play with him.

well... if the Lakers can move Kuzma, Ingraham and say... Deng's salary (plus picks prob), they would then have room to put Bron, Kawai and Paul together. And that would be a pretty solid group of guys to get. Maybe they even throw Lonzo in there.

They would be painfully thin after that big 3, but that big 3 would be pretty damn great as long as they just had shooters surrounding them.

Yup. Honestly I pretty much always side with the player but in this case SA is regarded as first class all the way and the fact he wants to go to 2 very bad teams in big markets tells me a lot

But that gives you 3 guys who all kind of do the same thing.

It almost worked in Houston with Paul/Harden and that team always needed a third guy to create. The genius of the above is that they never NEED all 3 to go off, much like the Warriors. And they're all good to great defenders when they want to be. I think guys THAT great would be able to figure it out.

I’d forget about George and just sign some cheap pieces around Lebron/Kawhi. I think ppl are forgetting how amazing Leonard is as an all around player. That duo with some shooters would be unstoppable.

Yep. Leonard has been acting kind of ******* if you ask me. Pop inspires so many players, that I just have to think that Leonard is a prima donna ass clown.

I don't think that is it. I think he is a shy introvert that is easily influenced by the crowd around him. He reminds me of Antonio McDyess or Joe Johnson.

It's not Leonard, it's his uncle. And he now oversees everything in the Kawhi world.

Paul and Harden are nothing alike. Harden is a pure scorer who couldn't defend me while Paul is an old school pass first playmaking point guard who is tough as nails on defense.

Wha? They're both ball dominant players who learned how to co-exist.

How is CP3 anything like LeBron or Kawai? He's not according to the metric you just used.

Those three guys are all nasty defenders, LeBron can play the 4 (which he often does), Kawai the 3 and Paul the 1. Every one of them can create and shoot and D up like mothers.

Thinking those three guys can't play together makes zero sense to me.

Leonard could only be a rental as he has a player option after next season. I'm not feeling it.

Me either. Damaged goods I think. He is gimpy, on a short deal, and a little weak mentally off the court. I've always thought that look in his eye reminded me of someone. He is a tremendously effective player, yet looks like a deer in the headlights. Then I remembered. He reminds me of Richard Dumas. Not the drugs issue. Just the personality.

I see Bordow is not high on the Suns going after Leonard as well.
