In case you're not following Game 1 vs. the Giants, it's a double shutout.

Corbin has pitched six innings with a no-no. Not too many strikeouts, so he has a low pitch count.

C'mon, D-backs, we need a couple of runs.

What the hell is wrong with Corbin? Dude looks like garbage on the mound tonight.

With two outs in the 8th, Brandon Belt pokes one to the opposite side with the shift on and breaks up Corbin's no hitter. Why would we put on the shift in a no hitter?

Still a double shutout. Cueto has given up two hits but is now out of the game.

You don’t arrange the defense based on a potential check swing. Belt is pull hitter.

Yeah, but I hate to see the no hitter lost that way.

A single by Dyson, a sacrifice by Corbin and the Freight Train singles in the game's only run so far in the bottom of the 8th. Patrick, with only 87 pitches, is back out to pitch the 9th.

That was an enjoyable game to watch. Wish all baseball games can go that fast.

Nice win and a great evening by Corbin. Dyson with the walk, and Peralta with the clutch hit after the bunt. Let’s take the series tomorrow!

Lovullo needs to calm down on those huge shifts. Cost Corbin the no-no

What a great game to be at. After Pollock's catch in the seventh I thought for sure I was going to witness a no-hitter

Wrong. Without the shift belt breaks up the no-hitter in the third inning

It was a check swing excuse me I can't set the defense for that

Ugh, Cueto
He has pitched great. If we can get to him tonight it could have a huge impact on the rest of the series with Ray and Grienke going next.

BTW, I wrote this right after DBack Jon's comment before the game. Just saw it was "grayed out", not sure what happened. But a great game by all, especially Corbin. We are going to the game tomorrow. GO RR and DBacks!

I missed the first 5 inning but read that the shift also helped get Belt out early in the game?
