I hear ya Mitch & that’s legit concern.

But on the other end of the spectrum, most of these younger guys who get an NFL HC gig fail, especially those with no HC experience these days or though it seems that way to me.

With the success of McVay it appears everyone wants that “next young offensive mind”. Is that the right way to hire you’re HC or hire the best guy for you’re franchise?

I am also curious how the Rams fare next year with tape on Goff and McVay's tendencies... the Rams did start to taper off

Meanwhile....2 or or 3 candidates could have stellar resumes , but along comes Candidate #4 who knocks everyones' socks off in the interview.

Why bother to overthink? Let the process come to us.

McVay had a great first year. So much that teams will follow and grab coaches not as qualified. Teams start figuring you out that's why I'm not big on offensive specialist type coaches. It was happening to us. No way Rams touch a superbowl . I'm really liking Munch the more I read. Pro style in everything. Hard nosed coaches with no smoke and mirrors. He would make sure we played hard and were prepared every week. I have no problem with Cards losing.....when they're prepared and play hard.

If you don't mind losing, then Munchak is your guy!

I like hard nosed coaching and being well prepared too. But in today's NFL adaption, creativity and flexibility are as important as toughness and preparation. You can coach as hard as you want, and prepare as much as you want. Maybe that's enough to sneak into the playoffs if you execute it flawlessly. But when you face a guy like Belichick in the Superbowl, you better have a plan A, B, C, D - and since it's Bill f****n Belichick - even better plan E, F, G, H! You better have a few things up your sleeve that can give BB headache! And you better be ready for anything crazy BB might throw at you! That's not only true when going against BB, but against any decent team in the league!

At what age do you think someone goes dead from the neck up?
I don’t think it’s an intelligence thing. For me I want to hit on a young HC that can be the rare unicorn that sticks around for 10-15 years. Yeah I get it, I’m swinging for the fences. But that’s just my philosophy with sports. I want to go for it all. This season just flat out sucked. 8-8 is great by historical cardinals measures but I want what the fans of great franchises get.

A dude that’s 57 likely isn’t coaching 15 years.

You can definitely tell when locker had to play and when he didnt. Hardly a blowout when Hassel and Fitzpat are starting. Hard playing gritty teams. Im tired of the big road games where were down 21-0 after 8 min cause we are not prepared. He runs a pro style offense ....I'm cool with that

In the past four seasons Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been sacked an average of 22 ½ times per season, down from 42 times per season prior to Munchak’s arrival.

This season, three different Pittsburgh offensive linemen were named to the Pro Bowl.
Yeah I'll take it.

All that tells me is that he should be our OL coach

I don't know a lot about Munchak, I just remember the last Steelers OL line coach to be considered a bona fide HC prospect... Isn't that reason enough to be messing my drawers at the thought??
