We are going Wednesday, 12:40pm game, should be fairly empty then. I bought $9 tickets and may use my MLB app to move up to the expensive seats.

So if we win the one game playoff we are the four seed. Do we hold that seed all the way or in round three do the go by records? Do we have anything to play for the last 6 games?

I believe that if the Dbacks beat the Dodgers and the Cubs beat the Nats, the Dbacks would host - but let me check on that.

I do know that if the Dbacks made it to the WS, they would host if they had a better record than the AL team. Right now the Dbacks have a better record than both AL WC teams, and one behind Boston

Nope...

The winners of the Division Series then advance to the best-of-seven American League and National League Championship Series. The team with the best record in each league will have home-field advantage.

In the event that a wild-card team has the better record than the other qualifying team that is a division champion, the division champion still gets the advantage and hosts Games 1, 2, 6, and 7.

We are 4 games back from the Nationals. I know not likely but maybe. I got back into baseball last year I thought the all star game gave home filed for the W.S.?

So they are going to give Grienke a week's rest (at least TL better).

Makes the most sense to me. Someone suggested sitting him all together till that game, but I really think that's a bad idea to break the routine that drastically, and also ZG needs a purification start after that last one. :)

I agree. All of the starting what-will-be 4 pitchers.

And if I were going to rest the position players, I would do it now, but not during the last three games of the regular season, then have to shake out the cobwebs in what could be our first and final game.

I like it - giving all the starters (other than Drury) a day off to rest. Hopefully will see a few more like this in this series

I almost forgot there was a D-Backs game on. Looks like they're getting blistered just like the Cardinals.

Ohh well. Glad the home WC is clinched.

The only semi-regular position player (2B platoon vs. lefty starters) in the lineup was Drury and he had both of our RBI's with a single and double (I believe).

It was a day to rest the starters. The outcome of the game was a foregone conclusion.

There is nothing wrong with giving your regulars a rest now that we've clinched the Wild Card home field advantage.

SP woes continue with Godley last night. I know we clinched but hoping SP gets it together before WC game.
