When I was working for an airline, I talked to Irvin on the phone. He was actually a pleasant guy. We talked football for a bit as well. He(understandably) hates Eagles fans but he had no such ill will toward we Card fans. Of course this was during the Same 'ol Cards era so that could have something to do with it.

I think he's a clown (not all bad) but there's no doubt he knows the game and he's a fairly intelligent man. I liked him a lot more on Best Damn Sports Show than I do on the NFL channel. As I mentioned before, he tends to lose control and start trying to talk while someone else has the floor.

I agree with his take on Bayless, which is why I don't consume an Bayless content. That is the only way you can take a stand against a "hawt take" machine like Bayless.

I've always liked Michael as a broadcaster going back to the early 90s when he had his own show in dallas. he made me laugh a lot. he interacts still with the radio station I listen to and they make fun of him through inpersonation and Michael takes it in stride. with that said I am a dallas fan and am not naïve to see on NFLN him acting a fool and that is too much for a lot of people especially those that don't like him for the things he did on and off the field. being the homer that he is I think he is better suited to do a show in dallas where he will be more effective, but if he were to be fired from NFLN I get the sense that another national network would be offering him a job.

To each his own.....

When Irvin and Deion start shouting over one another, I feel like I'm watching Jerry Springer, and can't change the channel fast enough.

I don't watch anything with MI on it. I can't listen to him talk as everything is over-annunciated and said like he's talking about the meaning of life or something. He also talks like his opinion is the only one that matters.

A broadcaster? Now that's a laugh. He might be entertaining for some people but he's not a broadcaster nor is he a journalist in anyway. He's a clown that doesn't seem to realize that despite the fact we have 2 ears, we really only want to listen to 1 mouth at a time.

I can't stand Irvin and I'm not proud to say I cheered when he was injured against the Eagles and that ended his career. As much as I hated him as a player I hate him more as an announcer. At times Deion annoys me and others he entertains me, Irvin simply always irritates the hell out of me. I can't change the channel quick enough when he starts spouting his crap.

I misspoke lol. Point is he had his own show with Craig James in 1992ish and it was all about Cowboys so it's different than his show on NFLN in some ways.

I'm not an Irvin fan either but he won me over a bit when he first showed up on The Best Damn Sports Show. He was forthright and apologetic for his behavior earlier in his life and IMO he seemed genuinely contrite. He talked about it openly and I found him to be a compelling speaker. Then he showed up on ESPN and soon found himself back on top, so to speak, and started getting in trouble all over again. So I figure he is what he is and I don't much like what that is but obviously, some people do.

I don't like NFLN. Didn't like it before Michael and don't like it now. Same for ESPN when he was there. When Michael Irvin does local Dallas work it is different for me. He is a homer and should be a media type in Miami or Dallas.

Yeah, we all want to root and hope people evolve but Irvin is who he is. Not a horrible human being but a very obnoxious one.
