Yeah that was a totally sincere attempt to straighten his life out had nothing to do with him being forced to do it.

I think he doesn't know how to deal with not being the top dog. For the first time in his life his talent isn't enough and he just doesn't know how to deal with it

No, it is not the talent which is not enough... it is his family's pull and money which he abused early on in high school which he does not have outside of his family's reign in their part of Texas, the guy is a jerk and a bully when he was allowed to be

Its funny. I listen to the radio show (podcast actually) Loveline where they talk about addiction and to addicts all the time. Just from that it is obvious to me that he is an addict.

"Continued use in the face of mounting consequences." Is a phrase that Dr. Drew often uses when asked how to tell if someone is an addict. It is such a simple and obvious way to describe addiction isn't it? If bad things are happening to you but you still continue using whatever it is because you can't stop.

I am sure his family's money is a contributing factor. It makes losing football just a little easier to take. But in the end he wants to be a qb in the NFL. He just wants to drink (or use) more.

Honey Badger had to make the same decision between football and weed when he got kicked out of LSU. He decided he loved football more (and watching him play you can see he LOVES to play football) and got some help to kick his addiction.

Manziel's father, Paul, told the newspaper that the Cleveland Browns quarterback has refused to enter area rehab facilities twice in the past week. He said the family tried to get Manziel to enter a local addiction facility on Saturday, but Manziel refused to stay. Paul Manziel said he tried to have his son admitted to a psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital on Tuesday, but Manziel was allowed to leave even though his father told officers that he believed Manziel was suicidal.

This is not good.

Personally, with all good intentions in saying this, I think he needs to go to a psych ward.

I agree with you here Cardiac. I think its a combination of both. He was the kid you went to school with that had everything and was also talented at everything as well. Everyone praised him and he was the cool kid that all wanted to hang around with. This began to snowball into JM getting away with anything he did because of his talents. He kind of reminds of Tweeter on "Varsity Blues"

The problem is, Johnny Manziel doesn't. I wonder if the roles were reversed would Manziel care about Honey Badger?

Can't help someone who doesn't want help, and Manziel doesn't.

He wants to party more then play football, and be an upstanding person. Sure he'd like to have both, it helps him with his celebrity ego and partying. But he doesn't need it. He needs partying.

He has the money to party the rest of his life, and has since birth. Football is a hobby to him.

If Rick James was alive, and he hung out with Johnny Manziel, he'd probably tell Manziel to slow down on the cocaine.

He's also a drunk.

He's got anger issues, and apparently is a domestic abuser.

He's a liar. He doesn't keep his promises either. He actively puts out misinformation to try to hide his activities.

His problems are so much worse then Honey Badger's ever was. Honey Badger at his darkest moment looks like a saint compared to Manziel.

Manziel is also a big baby, who pouts and whines. Oh coach, I'm too hungover to play in a bowl game. No seriously. He tried to pull that crap. He played like crap too, until he slammed a bottle of fireball at halftime. That is Johnny Football.

Oh I can't pick up the phone and talk to Haslam who has been trying to reach him, probably because he can't man up and get fired. But it turns out that at this point, that completely wasn't the reason for the calls.

Who knows what other issues he has.

They even had Ryan Leaf on ESPN yesterday trying to 'reach' Johnny.

You have his dad saying he doesn't think he'll make his next birthday... and remember his dad was warning NFL teams/GM's before the draft about his own son and his anger issues.

His dad has been what seems like he is at wits end for years. His dad has been crying out loud in public that he can't reach him. Yet for some reason everyone still thinks THEY can reach him.

He is delusional as he talks to TMZ people that he's 'stable'. I mean this guy is a raging sociopath. A stone cold liar.

Who knows what else has been swept under the rug over the years?

He needs help big time. I hope he finds it. But even now it's weird we're giving this guy who doesn't really deserve it, more help, then so many others who need and want it, but aren't getting it. It's sad. At some point we need to cut our losses and just let him do whatever. He doesn't really deserve our support. He never deserved anything.

As a human being I hope he gets help, but that's all I will afford him. He's pisses everything off. The sad reality is that only hitting rock bottom and having to really face some adversity might be the only thing that straightens him out. I hope that can occur without him hurting himself or someone else, but it may not.

Any NFL team that picks him up anytime in the next year or two... maybe ever deserves exactly what they get.

Good for you for quitting drinking if it was necessary.

If you thinking you overcame a weakness and not a disease and that's what keeps you sober than good for you and keep on keeping on.

Me, I'll take the word of countless Doctors, Psychiatrists and medical professionals over your opinion.

I also don't hate on people who have weaknesses.
