A man has to want to change first and clearly he doesn't
Easier said than done when hooked on drugs/alcohol.
He's not an addict I think he's just a douche who's never been held accountable because he's been such a great athlete people overlooked all that stuff.
Totally disagree.
On February 4, 2015 Manziel checked himself into a rehabilitation center for the treatment of alcohol addiction

Yeah that was a totally sincere attempt to straighten his life out had nothing to do with him being forced to do it.
I think he doesn't know how to deal with not being the top dog. For the first time in his life his talent isn't enough and he just doesn't know how to deal with it
I actually kind of feel sorry for him. He is in a downward spiral. Who knows how deep it will go.
This was sent from my cell pjone so please excise any typeos or other errors.
Its funny. I listen to the radio show (podcast actually) Loveline where they talk about addiction and to addicts all the time. Just from that it is obvious to me that he is an addict. The kid is an addict. His Dad thinks he won't live until his next birthday. Lots of families have to deal with this issue. But, very few have to do it with so much public scrutiny.
I was a huge Johnny Football fan when he was in college. In fact, he totally gave Alabama a lot of problems like no other player, before or since, has in the Nick Saban era. Now, I would rather see him get his life straightened out than to see him play football again.
I was thinking Manziel was a self absorbed jerk (That may be true) but he is obviously an addict who needs help. Hating on him just doesn't seem to make any sense to me, he has a disease. I lot of good to great people have had trouble with drugs and alcohol.
I agree with you here Cardiac. I think its a combination of both. He was the kid you went to school with that had everything and was also talented at everything as well. Everyone praised him and he was the cool kid that all wanted to hang around with. This began to snowball into JM getting away with anything he did because of his talents. He kind of reminds of Tweeter on "Varsity Blues"
I am the type that wants to see him get better for him and his family. It's sad to see someone go in a downhill spiral and everyone around him trying to help, but he refuses

It's not a disease. Cancer is a disease
Make no mistake it's a weakness that's coming from a man that hasn't had a drink in 8 years
