Game will not be flexed. That has been announced.

Rumor is that if the G-Men win tonight, they get flexed against the Vikings in 2 weeks.

Yeah I knew there was no way FOX was letting this game out of their hands. Building up to possibly be the biggest game of the year in the NFC. You know the network people are praying for the Cards to lose and the Pack to win next week to setup this game.

If Cards win vs. Philly the Cards have the NFC West crown....then it's a question of if they keep the starters playing.

If people need the money that bad, maybe they should take a budgeting class.

Potentially the most important game of the year is not a time to sell your team out.

Yea, only rich people should be allowed to have tickets!

That comment had nothing to do with how much money a person has. I don't want only rich people in the stands. That pretty much happened in Santa Clara and their home field advantage sucks because everyone is there to be seen, instead of to cheer.

Of course they do. They want a first round bye and a home playoff game in the divisional round. Who in their right mind would want to go to Green Bay in January?

Which means we'll be getting Joe Buck & Aikman as the "#1" announcing crew. Sure glad I'll be at the game and not have to endure those jackasses on TV.

Back in 2009, we traveled to Chicago to see the Cards play the Bears. Early Sunday morning we crossed the street from the hotel to get coffee, and Joe Cluck was just returning to the hotel from the same coffee shop. I marveled at how tiny that man is as we passed each other at close range. Was tempted to raise my right arm and drop him with a "Night Train"-style forearm shiver. Fortunately, I'm not dumb enough to attempt such a stunt. :D

I'm kind of wondering if we should be cheering Oakland to beat Green Bay this weekend. If Green Bay loses then beating Philly on Sunday night would clinch both the NFC West and a first round bye. That would make the last two weeks of the season meaningless from the Cardinals perspective. Do we really want to go three weeks without a meaningful game? That could be tough to turn it on again after being off for that long.

However it shakes out I doubt the team and coaches would take a game against the Hags as meaningless.

Part of the reason Packers fans travel so well is that the cost of living in Wisconsin is absolute dirt compared to the cities they are travelling to. You can buy a house blocks from Lambeau for $125k. Most people are union and make decent money so long as they are employed. They have the money to spend and it's warm here when it is brutal there. Only way to stop this is for our economy to get better here so we can compete.

One might think his is true, but Wi is the sixth highest taxed state in the nation. Don't be fooled by a shack in Green Bay being cheap. Also remember that Green Bay is a city with only 280,000 people. It's not cheap to live here, in fact with my salary I could live like a king in Phx, which I did for almost 40 years.

Sure they would. Week 17 is the week where you play your backups if you already have a bye locked up. Would you really want Palmer out there and risk him getting injured right before the playoffs in a game whose outcome was meaningless? Would you also want the coaches to show their full game plan when they could end up meeting for the NFC championship in a few weeks after?

Well, I wouldn't take it as meaningless because I hate the Hags and I have a bet with a friend of mine :)

Hopefully we lock up #2 seed after Sunday and then the GB game is not as important for us

That could happen. I give the Raiders a good shot and we should beat Philadelphia. The 2 seed could be ours Sunday night.

Seahawks fans are already plotting their invasion to UofP stadium. Can someone remind this guy that banners are not allowed inside the stadium?

There's a good chance that they'll be coming here too... right now the Seahawks are the 5th seed & tied with the Vikings at 8-5. They have the tie-breaker over the Vikings since they beat them. With the Seahawks remaining easy schedule, I don't expect them to lose until they play us in the season finale. That means that they'll likely play whatever cupcake the NFL Least puts into the playoffs & then come to play us in round 2.

Maybe we'll get lucky & the Vikings will win out so that when we beat the Seahawks, we'll knock them into the 6th seed. The Vikings have games against the Bears, Giants & Packers in the last 3 weeks... they should be able to beat the Bears & Giants (although they're not gimmies) and GB will be tough.

Is there any scenario where the Vikings get the #3 seed & GB gets the #5 seed because of a tie-breaker over Seattle (putting them at #6)?

we want Seattle @ 5 if we get the 2, because the likely matchups will be NFC Least V. Seattle and Packers (3) v. Vikings (6). If those matchups shake out the way I think they would, you'd have the (1) Carolina v. (5) Seattle and (2) Cardinals v. (3) Packers in the second round.

If SEA beat the NFC east team in rd 1, they go to CAR. This is assuming GB takes care of MIN in rd 1.

yup. I think that's our best case scenario if we get the 2 seed and take care of business. Let those two teams kick the crap out of each other before we have to play them.

OK, gotcha...

There is a scenario though where Seattle could still end up as #6.

We beat GB & Seattle & the Vikings beat GB with all other games as victories for all 3 teams.

That would put the Vikings #3 & GB #5 with Seattle at #6. So if everything else is playing out that way then maybe it's a good thing if we lose to Seattle in the final season game to make sure they get the 5th spot.

But if Seattle is the 6 seed than we wouldn't see them until the nfc championship game and if a nfc least team can steal a win against MN or something we would host them :D
