David Johnson is listed at 6'1" 225lbs and is known for his pass catching ability. When we see 225lbs, we think, BIG BACK SMASH. Although that's not his game at all. On tape we see a runner that runs very upright.

Now compare that to a 6'0" 222LB back that won 4 Super Bowls with the 49ers while being know for his pass catching ability and running upright. Think HIGH KNEES. #33. Yup, one Mr. Roger Craig.

In the 5 seasons in the peak of his career from 85 - 89, Craig averages 15 carries a game for 60 YPG along wth 5 receptions a game for another 40 years. He was averaging 100 Y/G from scrimmage, but never put up eye popping numbers on the ground or in the air because his game was a combination of both.

I see DJ being used very similarly on the field and his upright running style brings back memories of #33

We'll see, I hate to line rookies up with hof names. I have backup expectations and if he does more I'll be happy

Crazy quick feet for a big back. His style is more like Le'veon Bell. Not saying he's going to be that good. But, very similar styles.

He's a rook with 0 carries for 0 yards in the NFL and barely noticed in college. Comparing him to a HOF player is foolish (and that's being kind).

At this point the cards don't even know if he good enough to even get any carries. Should be some good competition in camp.

A.) Roger Craig is not in the Hall of Fame

B.) The comparison was in the style of back, skill set and manner in which they are used

C.) This is a message board, how many people would visit and post if the only posts on the site were "Well, just wait and see what happens, no projections or discussion please."
