I am now following Shaun Church on twitter, has some great breakdowns and analysis along with gifs of the game.

Arians was doing this to all our TE's right around that time. I commented that if only we didn't put our TE's on Freeny.

Housler looked like all our other TE's trying to block Freeny. In other words, Freeny made all the TE's that covered him look like they were Housler. Which I know means at least Carlson.

Housler wasn't the only TE getting worked over by Freeney. If you try to block that guy with only a TE, you're gonna have a bad time.

And I am the last guy that would be apologizing for The Dude.

Remind me again what it is exactly that he does well?

I heard he was a member of the Seattle Seven, an heir to the inventor of the Rubik's Cube, and an original author of The Port Huron Statement.

Looks like Lyle and Veldheer both had nobody to block, so how can we say that Massie blocked the wrong guy? Maybe someone else was supposed to kick out and help with Freeney...Unless we have the playbook, I would lean towards the guy that is actually blocking someone is probably doing his job...and Massie looks like he blocked the heck out of 91.

At least the Dude had enough drive to push Freeney past Palmer so Palmer could continue to look ten years younger this game.

Watching the play, it is clear that Massies assignment was not to block the guy housler blocked. It appears to me MAssie blocked the right dude, the play called for the wrong blocking assignment.

Carlson got beat just as bad on the other side. If the Cards want to block their best pash rusher with a TE, they deserve what is coming to them.

We know the guy can't block so asking him to block a guy like Freeney even an old Freeney is silly. But if you look, Sendlein is blocking air running around looking for someone to block, and Veldheer actually comes over to help Larsen out because after an initial block he too has nobody to block.

So apparently the design of the play was to have a C and LT be available to help and have a TE who can't block be assigned to block Freeney?

Seems like it would have been much smarter to just slide everyone to Housler's side so Massie helps him, and Sendlein or Fanaika help Massie.

In his defense, not many TE can block Freeney 1:1.
