... oh, I also love JJ for the damage he does to the Cowboys :)

if it wasn't for that short period he had Jimmy Johnson as coach,...dude would have zero rings and the highest payroll in the league.
Have to love a meddling owner that thinks he knows the sport.....at least Al Davis did for quite a while,...until the game really changed.

I would take JJ might know more football than me but that is a hardly a prerequisite to be a GM in the NFL lol

He will go to his grave trying to prove he can win a Super Bowl without

Jimmy Johnson. How can an educated successful man like Jones not see

that he needs to hire a GM. I have a friend who is a Cowboys fan and he

says the same thing. Jones needs to set back relax and hire a John Elway

to do the dirty work.

Every Cowpie fan dreams of that...and it's just that...a dream! JJ has said numerous times in the media here in Dallas that as long as he owns them, he will make the football decisions. :) That makes me happy & IMO he's no better than RG or George Boone as an NFL GM.

Btw I love watching his wax face nearly melt over after each last second loss :D

apparently the new buzz is that the cowpukes have stated they WILL "figure out" a way to get Johnny Manziel in this draft....stay tuned for the reverse Herschel Walker trade..............

I'm confused........click on the facebook link and don't see anything about JJ wanting Manziel.

I do see this - Jerry Jones might be dismissing all the rumors that the Dallas Cowboys are seriously interested in Johnny Manziel, but that isn't stopping fans from getting excited about the idea.

Is there a better link showing that JJ does want Manziel?

at the time I posted that link it was full of items covering the story that JJ was adamant to getting manziel...unfortunately the nature of FB is that the info on pages changes,...sorry.
however, in a smoke/fire scenario......why else would JJ be putting for the the energy to downplay the situation now?

I don't think anyone would argue the team-building ability of Jimmy but it was 2 years later with a different OC and different DC.

Bottom line, Jerry won it all without Jimmy as HC. Of course, it probably cost him a LOT of unmarked bills to Neil O'Donnell but Jerry won it all without Jimmy. Jimmy can't claim the reverse.

JJ just needs to wait another year for his media attention around surrounding the draft. This is the year the Cowpies hit rock bottom and then get the #1 pick in the draft. Heaven help us----a couple of months of JJ on NFL Network, etc with the media explaining how he is going to make his selection, blah-blah-blah. Cowpie fans are going to continue to suffer.

What did Miami win with Jimmy Johnson players?

My point is Jerry Jones is trying to be a quality General Manager and he sucks

at it. He is no more qualified to be a GM than you or me. He was so jealous that

Jimmy was getting all of the credit.

I don't disagree with any of that, I just don't know that you can literally say that he's never won without Jimmy. Not too many people love Jerry but he was a part of those Cowboys teams that were a '90's dynasty. If he gets the blame for making all the bad calls because he's too involved, I don't see how he'd just be sitting on his hands when Jimmy was there.
