Took my daughter to B&N since she was in the mood for another book. I had no intention of doing anything but browsing as I'm knee deep in Dirty Wars by Jeremy Scahill. That is until I picked up Command and Control by Eric Schlosser. Well, I'm already through the first 100 pages, and wow, what a good read about our nuclear arsenal and the near "misses" we've endured.

I read Water For Elephants on vacation. Great book, read it in one sitting (it WAS a long bus ride). Have not seen the movie.

Reading the new Malcolm Gladwell "David and Goliath". Pretty good so far although I still prefer Outliers.

Watched the old movie with Robert Taylor recently. Really enjoy the old classics.

I will have to read the book.

I've read the book and watched the movie, I'd say stay with the movie. I was probably too young to read Ivanhoe but it's not one of my pleasant memories. Too much romance, too much history, too many prejudices, too boring for an 11 year old kid although the movie worked quite well for me the year before. I guess, come to think of it, I should probably re-visit the book so forget my advice.:)

Currently reading Sycamore road by John Grisham.

I haven't read The Forgotten but I've liked everything I've read by Baldacci. I can't say the same about King. I've liked part of just about everything he's written but he's just a little too strange for me. I'll never visit a small town in New England again though without looking around to see how many of the locals have escaped from one of his novels.

This is the next book I am reading. Just ordered from the library. Probably will take a week or so because it is new.

Next book up - Grapes of Wrath again and then Tobacco Road.

GoW is about the Okies who left to CA during the depression. Tobacco Road is about the people who couldn't afford to leave.
