I am stunned that McCarthy has been hurt so much. Remember that one time in his career he pitched over 111 innings? I thought for sure he would replicate that.

Sure am glad Pennington got a two year deal.

I dare someone to look up Martin Prado's career numbers away from Turner Field... and not get really depressed afterwards. But at least he can provide below average defense at multiple positions.

We should ask some Padre fans how they feel about the Jason Bay for Brian Giles trade.

2012 Bauer trade - probably a good deal
2013- Upton and Chris Johnson for Prado and Delgado - can't see this as a good deal. I just can't.

Go back and look at KT's record at San Diego.

Try doing similar analysis of other GM's from other teams... You will find that none of them are perfect, and all of them have many, many misses... more misses than hits...

Fire this baby up in another year or two...

His San Diego tenure was enough to convince me we never should have hired him to begin with.

I'm not blown away by a 15 year run of mediocrity. If thats what we're aiming for then... he is probably the man for the job and is proving it so far.

And yeah, a lot of guys have more misses than hits, but KT is batting about .085 right now.

Whats yours? They had a losing record under towers, only once did they go beyond the first round of the playoffs, and he left them in total ruin.

I dont consider that successful.

Maybe more wins than loses would be nice? They were a losing team and the NL West was the weakest division in baseball for a looong time during that stretch... and the Padres were a major part of that.

Having the 4th best record and the 4th most playoff success in a 5 team division, that was in low regard, does not impress me.
