Underrated
1) Stump-career average over 4.5 yds...versatile despite his size & a could've had a great career if not for being on OJs team.

2) Jetsream-outside of loyal Cards fans & Madden, he was virtually unknown. Ask HOF CB Darrell Green who gave him the most problems.

3) Aeneas-more picks & defensive scores than Peion. Should already be a HOF...better than the great Roger Werhli IMO hands down

4) Eric Swann-dominant on a Reggie White level at the DT position before knee problems...again if you weren't a Cards fan, you didn't acknowledge him

5) Curtis Greer-best pure pass rusher the Cards had as a franchise before Rice & Harvey...knee injuries ended a promising career early

Overrated

Beanie? :biglaugh:
By who? Thesmel was the only fan who saw beyond his toothpick knees & ability to be tackled by ghost defenders! :mulli:

That article seems phoned in.

Darnell Dockett ?

Come on. You got to dig a little deeper than that!

Jake Plummer is without a doubt one of the most overrated players for the Cardinals.

Scott Player was SO overrated, he was a charity case for a pro bowl selection.

One person on the underrated list I completely agree with is Center Tom Banks. Went to 4 straight Pro Bowls during the 70's. Nobody mentions him.

I'm hoping that the new defensive scheme (Bowles) will help DD. I watched the Cards' SB game last week, and didn't realize how dominant DD was. He played, imo, as good a game in the SB that a DT ever played. Hope he can near that level, this year.

But missed the sack that would've iced the SB trophy at the 1yd line on 2 & 20 :bang:

There were a myriad of things that went wrong on that drive. Dockett's missed sack was the least of my issues.

This! For sure. Not so sure about The Swami's Cousin, if only because it wasn't his fault he was Franchised twice any more than it was Karlos Dansby's.

I think that at this point Anquan Boldin has gone from overrated to underrated. Fitz was always a better player, but Q when he was happy with his contract was the main reason to watch otherwise-mediocre Arizona Cardinals football.

I gotta agree with Centers. Never understood the love affair with him.

Underrated: Levi Brown. Hard to say about a top ten pick.

Larry Centers was not overrated, he was simply unconventional. He was slotted as a full back, but really was a pass catching running back. A guy like Centers doesn't have success on most other teams, but when your team's QBs are Dave Krieg, Jake Plummer, Kent Graham et al, and your offensive line is garbage, you need an effective pass catching back as a safety valve when you cant complete the deep ball or pass rushers are barreling down at the QB. Centers was almost always 1st or 2nd on the team each season in either receptions or yards.

Its a joke. Lighten up Francis

Although he was a waste of a third round pick. He was rated by the Cards, who drafted him, and they overrated him

There is no doubt that with his longevity that Larry Stalling was one of the most under rated players ever to wear a Cardinal uni. Check out his career.

He was overrated by fans in the valley, most of whom thought he was a superstar, he wasn't that at all, he was an average football player who benefited by playing with bad and gutless QBs who would look to him more often than not out of panic.
