The thread to post videos, rumors, etc. Would be excellent if you did not bring "credit card board" material in here, since that is copyrighted and exclusive unless made public otherwise.

Commits:

- Nick Brown (Florence) RB, 5-9, 180. Also recruited by Arizona, Colorado, San Diego State and Northern Arizona.

- Dimarya Mixon (Mesquite, Tx) DE, 6-5, 240. Decommit. Now committed to Missouri.

- Chans Cox (Blue Ridge) OLB, 6-3, 230. 4-star OLB recruited by everybody in the Pac-12 and Big 10. Some SEC schools.

- Josh Dobbs (Alpharetta, Ga.) QB, 6-3, 190. 3-star QB who set state records for passing yards and TDs as a junior. 4.0 GPA, will graduate this fall and be at ASU this spring. Had offers from Arkansas, Boston College, TCU, most of the Ivy League, and serious interest from all the big SEC schools.

- Grant Martinez (Notre Dame Prep/Scottsdale) TE, 6-5, 205. 3-star TE and will start out at the traditional TE spot. Grew up an ASU fan. Had offers from Cal, Utah, interest from Stanford.

- Ellis Jefferson (Denton, Tx) WR, 6-4, 200. 3-star WR who chose ASU over Michigan State and Colorado. Was drawing interest from a host of SEC, Big 10 and Pac 12 schools.

- Nick Begg (Santa Margarita, Calif.) DE, 6-5, 240. Took first offer he got from SDSU. Then de-committed and committed to ASU. UCLA withdrew from interest.

- Jason Reese (Euless, Tx) WR, 6-4, 220. Decommit.

- Joseph Morris (Woodland Hills/Pierce College) WR, 6-4, 200. Not much known on him. Just another very TALL WR recruit in this class.

Looks like ASU made the cut with Kenny Lacy & Chans Cox.

Looks like ASU is out with Cole Luke.

Anyone know if Marcus Farria of Centennial is still on their football team? Rumors are that he is either academically ineligible or has been kicked off the team and wants to go to college out of state.

If he graduates, he'll end up at Utah, I think. If Graham sticks to his guns about the background issues, Farria will have his scholie pulled.

ASU is close on this QB out of Georgia, Joshua Dobbs. Kid's a big-time passer when a top-notch brain. Camped at Stanford and Princeton. Wants to double-major and build airplanes, so ASU's aeronautical engineering program could actually lure him away from other academic schools. Wants to also play baseball. I think he's got a big future at QB.

I really hope Graham does stick to his guns. I wasn't thrilled about his hire, but if he sticks to his guns about bringing in quality young men, Ill change my tune quickly.

Growing up a fan of Colangelo owned teams where players were traded for smacking their wives or being involved in a coke scandal spoiled my I guess. These last couple years (last year especially) I found it hard to even consider myself an ASU football fan. Watching so many penalties and such thuggish behavior was embarrassing and disheartening. Im glad the AD has added Discipline to the Football HCs job description.

Updated with the big news of Chans Cox and Josh Dobbs. Huge news there.

Pretty certain Cox plays linebacker, but which LB spot is probably up to him and how he performs when he gets here. He's big enough to play any four positions in the Pac-12. I think they may start him at OLB.

Only reason Dobbs hasn't graduated yet was so he could play another year of football. He's a very, very bright kid with some unique skills. Previous reports of him playing baseball appear to be inaccurate. He's said he's going to focus on football at ASU.

So were the Suns Devils recruiting two QBs in Dobbs and Bruggman? It seems so unless I'm missing something. I'm wondering how the Sun Devils had them ranked. As I understand it, the Suns Devils had already offered to Dobbs.

They offered both. Bruggman chose Wazzu. Between you, me, and the folks here, I suspect ASU really wanted Dobbs but waited on Bruggman to be PC with the local guy. They were considered on par with each other, but Dobbs has a much higher ceiling. Bruggman probably made the right choice, too. He's very much like the guys Leach had at Texas Tech.

Chans Cox told Hod he was recruited to play Devil Back, which is the strong-side backer in this scheme. It's similar to what Lawrence Taylor and Derrick Thomas played years ago -- will play some with his hand down at the LOS.

Not a big surprise but TE Grant Martinez committed to ASU:

This is very good news. Always nice to keep a local kid home and Im excited about the return of the TE to ASUs offense. I couldn't stand watching the offense in the red zone under Mazzone and just having no ability to get it to a big receiver in a crowded area, no one that could create mismatches, etc.

It's good we know. Nick Brown- anticipating football will be apart of his college life. He began playing competitive football at the age of 7 for NYSP.
Dimarya Mixon- He can stay at end in a 4-3, fitting well as 6/7 technique, could potentially develop into a D-tackle or at least be a swing guy.
Chans Cox- Size/speed/athleticism combo makes him a versatile athlete.
Josh Dobbs-is one of the state’s top student-athletes.

Nice recruits!!

WR Ellis Jefferson from Denton, TX committed to the Devils today. Scout has him listed a 3 */ #91, Rivals has him as a 3*/#92 and ESPN rates him as a 3* or 75.

Looks like he's got great size, 6'4''/200lbs. Also had interest from Colorado, Sparty, Ole Miss & Vandy...so some pretty good offers. Its an impressive commit considering he visited ASU in the middle of freakin' July.

With Penn States sanctions today, we're going to see recruits and current players transferring like crazy. Normally this wouldn't effect ASU, being on the other side of the country and not really recruiting the same guys, but I'm hoping and praying these two guys end up in Tempe:

OL Ryan Nowicki: He redshirted at PSU this past year. He's from the Phoenix area, I don't think he strongly considered ASU under the Erickson regime, but I hope Todd Graham at least gives him a call. ASU needs O-line depth in a pretty bad way.

LB/ATH: Zayd Issah. He had considered ASU before committing to PSU (kinda weird for a kid from Harrisburg, PA to even be looking at ASU). ASU's LB situation is a total mess and he could probably come in and play right away.

ASU got a few more commits today:

2 * DE Nick Begg from Santa Margarita, Ca. Switched to ASU after committing to SDSU

2 * WR/TE Jason Reese from Euless, TX. Also had offers from Mizzou, Indiana, Purdue, TCU & UCF

JC (NR) WR Joe Morris from Pierce College in California.

ASU is also recruiting 4 * JC TE Beau Sandland from Pierce College, and 3 * JC WR Jalen Strong from Pierce College. So hopefully landing Morris potentially helps with them, who knows.

I imagine it might prove difficult with fall camp just a few weeks away to get kids to move across the country but stranger things have happened. My guess is despite our respective staffs having some connections in that area that neither of us end up with more than a couple kids from PSU if any.

I wouldn't be shocked if UA, with a former Big 10 coach, gets one or two, but I'd be very shocked if ASU landed any. Nowicki coming back 'home' would be a bigger surprise. I don't think he even took an official trip to either school. I know he tripped to USC and Washington. I believe RichRod actually recruited Nowicki at Michigan, so there could be a prior relationship.

That is correct.

Nowicki to Illinois per Gambo of all people.

Depressingly Gambo has been breaking more and more news lately it seems. Somehow I think local sources have decided to just funnel info to him since he likely has a big Twitter/local following. But damn its obnoxious, it gives him even a bigger head.
