Just to be similar to the, remember Andre Roberts thread. Do you remeber they guy who signed a 5 year 25 million contract with a 10 mill signing bonus but can't cover Jake freakin' Ballard. Ballard is from OSU and I had no idea he was in the NFL until 2 weeks ago. I'm pretty sure 1/2 of us on here could cover him. How on earth could Graves give this guy a 10 mill guarantee. He really should be cut about right now. He brings nothingto the defense. Quan Strudivant for about 1/100th of the price could have provided better production.

and paid him top dollar. DD may be the only guy who makes more than Stewie. Watch, we'll let CC walk but keep stiffs like Stewie on the team.

True, but I'll venture a guess and say it's wasn't Graves' idea on his own. Graves and Whisenhunt should be sent packing after this season.

Liked the signing but was surprised at how much we paid. Don't like what I have seen so far. Guy is bringing nothing.

Seems more and more like a "we have to spend money somewhere" signing.

I liked this signing at the time, but I was wrong. Bradley is awful. How long does it take to learn a system well enough to record a single tackle in a game?

Bradley is also one of two players on defense to wear a headset (Lenon is the other). If he doesn't know where he's supposed to be, why is he relied upon to line up other players? Some of the decisions on this team are baffling.

I think we'd be better off with Milton Bradley.

We're really struggling to replace Gerald Hayes. I thought Hayes was a good player, but I didn't know it would take this long to find a player with similar skills. It's kind of ridiculous.

All I got to say is.....

Stewart Bradley = Alan Branch

Jeez, why is it when I get behind a player that I can think make a real difference they suck, and not only suck, but suck bad on such a level to make me want to fly down there and arrogantly, and eccentrically say, "I look dumb enough without your help. Way to screw over people who believe in you." And then back hand'em in the nuts and walk (well, run really fast) away.

I will tell you this, Bradley HAD a lot of talent. Obviously he doesn't have the desire after this injuries to give it all, and put the work in.

From what I have seen, CC will not be allowed to walk this offseason. They may end up using the franchise tag to prevent it, but with Dockett over 30, CC will be locked up long term.

This signing goes on Graves. I get the reason that they signed him (good size ILB's are hard to find), but they obviously didn't look too deep into him as a player because other than measurables, he doesn't have it. Hopefully he turns it around, but I know for sure that he can't play in space.

if this team can't get CC signed during the season to an extension without the crutch of a franchise tag where he'll be OUTRAGEOUSLY OVERPAID then... well... they'll be the Cardinals i know and loathe.

They're not going to pay CC more than they're paying Dockett, and they're not going to use the Franchise Tag (which would be the average salaries of the top 5 DEs in the NFL--that'd be Peppers, Allen, etc.) for a 3-4 DE.

Rod Graves is the GM that will, I promise you. Dockett is over 30, so Campbell making more than him isn't as big of a deal as it was when Fitz was making more than Boldin. Do I think it is smart to franchise Campbell? Not really, they should get it done during this season. But, the Cardinals backed themselves into a similar corner with Dansby as paid the money. Believe me when I tell you that the Cardinals see their future DL as Campbell/Carter more than they see it as Dockett/Carter. Campbell has proven himself to this staff as far as his big play ability in this defense.

The difference between the Franchise Tag value for OLB and DE four or five years ago is profound to what the Tag value will be in 2012. In 2010 the Franchise Tag value was $12.3 million. For one season! The Cards will want Calais Campbell's guaranteed value to be under $12 million on an extension.

The Cards see their future DL as Dockett/Carter. They're locked into Dockett and Dockett has the attitude that he deserves to get paid more than anyone else on the line. It wasn't that long ago that Dockett was complaining about his contract. They're already laying the foundation by talking up Carter and downplaying Campbell (saying he needs to get better, whatever).

I don't want it to happen, but the same writing is on the wall this year for Campbell as it was last year for Breaston. We'll let him leave and bring in Aaron Smith because he's a better fit for the system that Horton wants to run. :bang:

Exactely! Same s*** they pulled with Anquan drafting his replacement in Doucett. He dutifully took him under his wing...but no doubt told him...you'r replacing me. There was no loyalty there for what he gave this org. / which up to that point was substantial.

Cards, you want to change your image....then start! You know what should be done!!

I have no problem with what the Cards did with Anquan. He wanted to be paid as much as Fitz because he thought he was as good as Fitz. That clearly was never the case (and some of us said that for years). They had to get rid of Q because he was never going to be happy here.

Same thing happened with Antron. Antron was never going to be paid more than Wilson. The Cards tried to work something out with Antron where he'd get paid close to the same, but on a different timeline, and Antron wouldn't do it. Now Antron is better than either Wilson or Rhodes.

Same thing happened with Antonio Smith--he was never going to get paid more than Dockett. Campbell's not going to get paid more than Dockett, either.
