I only caught about 6-7 minutes of the Giants vs. Redskins game, but it was enough to see Rolle pull another of his bonehead mistakes. A Redskin receiver had to go to the ground to catch a low pass from Rex Grossman which left him 3-4 yards short of converting a critical third down. Here comes Antrel to launch himself helmet-to-helmet into the defenseless receiver on the ground drawing a personal foul penalty and allowing the Redskins to get the first down.

Good old Antrel! Don't miss him at all when I see he is still the same old, same old. :D

Rolle proved last year that it's not how you play, but often where you play when Pro-Bowl invites are handed out.

Yep, because that NFC roster was littered with Giants :doi:.

That would be a good point if anyone was really trying to say that simply being a Giant put him on the Pro Bowl. He had "name" value, was touted as a key FA acquisition AND he was playing in New York. If he'd signed that same contract in Kansas City he would have had the day off when the Pro Bowl came around (IMO). He's got worlds of talent and he's a big play guy which always helps your case but all in all, he's been a disappointment at two positions.

Yeah not a good day to bash on one of our former secondary players.

422 yards by a rookie QB in his first game. Broke a record that was 61 years old by 76 yards.

BTW: Otto Grahams old record is tainted because he'd played 4 years for Cleveland in the old American Football Conference.

The guy who was behind Graham, Ed Rubbert, was a replacement player for the Redskins in 1987.

Too funny.

, How is that not saying he made it because of where he played? No big deal anyway. The Cards won and PP showed he's worthy of the
#21 jersey.

I don't see how anyone could say he's been a disappointment at two positions. I also don't know if he had a real pro-bowl caliber year last season. But I do know that the blown coverages we saw with Rolle and Wilson have continued with Rhodes and Wilson.

Well, I just kind of kept hitting keys until I ended up with a sentence that called him a disappointment at two positions. It wasn't difficult although I did have to clear up a few typos.:D

I liked Rolle but I called him a disappointment because IMO he didn't live up to his potential (or perhaps my expectations) at corner or at safety. When we drafted him, he was often touted as the next shutdown corner. There were a few people concerned that he didn't have true corner speed and obviously they were correct. Then, the thinking was, move him to safety and you'll have an all-world player. He was a better fit at safety but still, despite his big plays, he always seemed to give up big plays too. To be fair, he was a pretty good safety and a decent corner. I expected greatness though.

It is about where he played, just not simply where he played. He still had to be a pretty decent safety or he would have never received Pro Bowl consideration in the first place. I really doubt he would have made the Pro Bowl again if he played at that level anywhere other than one of the big media centers. It's a small sampling but the NY fans I know all consider his Pro Bowl acknowledgement to be unwarranted (I know one Giant fan). I don't think Antrel's made the adjustment yet to today's NFL. He needs to realize that with Carson Palmer retired, he'll need to work a lot harder for his big plays.

I've had Roto Rooter out twice and it hasn't helped me. Maybe I should consider a different professional?

Most people use a Proctologist for that.

I plan on going through the rest of my life without ever again seeing a Proctologist or a Urologist. Of course, I didn't plan to ever cheer for a team with Derek Anderson under center so I think we all know about best laid plans. BTW, I'm not a Rolle hater, I just think his potential and his ego are both greater than his actual performance.
