Rhodes has been our best defender IMO. Big upgrade.

Agreed.

Huge upgrade.

Better than Toler tho ? I dunno. This is Tolers first year starting, and he has been brilliant. Especially with the huge void of a pass rush this team has.

About two or three years ago, I was talking to someone about the best safeties in the league. Adrian had just finally sealed his first Pro Bowl, and we talked about how Kerry Rhodes might be the next to finally make that jump into the top 5 safeties in the league.

I lamented that we'd never have him on our team, since AW was already here.

I'm loving Rhodes on our team, and I prefer him to Rolle. We're going to be set there for a while.

I am not surprised. (Kerry is what we thought he was).

Any uncertainty about his value came from the national media (who either ignored the Cards' pickup of Rhodes or were listening to the wrong buzz coming out of NYC).

I love me some Kerry Rhodes. Love how he is fitting in with this team and hanging with the fans.

Interesting to read another comment from AW about Rhodes being where he is supposed to be on the field. I feel like that is probably related to the past comments on Rolle being a freelancer out on the field.

Toler has been a huge surprise. Love or starting corners right now.

It's funny how the things on D that people were worried about at the beginning of the season like Toler, Rhodes, Lenon, and the secondary are OK and the part of the D thought to be great (the D line/rushing the QB) is poop.
On offense everyone thought the line was going to be so good especially at run blocking...NOPE! They have looked like crap from every angle. It's a crazy world.

Our OL looked horrible against San Diego and looked very good against the Saints. Our QB had time to throw the ball. I am still wondering if the line or the RB's are at fault for our lack of a running game? Most say it is the line but I am not so sure about that. The backs are clearly great in the open field but may not be seeing a hole that opens for only a second or so. Good backs seem to have a way of finding a hole. Our old Emmitt Smith, I think, rushed for a thousand yards with our not so great OL. Our backs do not seem to have that push to get the 4 yards that many backs have. When they hit a tackler they seem to go down on the spot and not move the line. In the open field they have moves and speed and will make a tackler pay. They have no problem punishing tacklers in the open field but are not so great going into the line. Watching a guy like Peterson hit the line and move a couple of 300 lb lineman lets you know he can not only find a hole but can push the big guys back.

Easily one of the best FA signings this team has had in quite some time. He is truly a Pro's Pro. Can't believe the Jets let him go. He's all of the physical attributes you would ever want in a FS (size, strength and speed). And combines all of that with tremendous football smarts and great leadership qualities.
Against the Saints, I saw Rhodes on multiple occasions directing both DRC and Toler pre-snap.

Awesome signing!!

I think it's hard to complement anybody on a defense that has given up the most points in the entire NFL.

He sure is. Even after all the big plays Kerry has made Cbus still just can't bring himself to compliment the guy at all.

Is everything
Considering where he went to college, Rhodes is cleary inspired by the mighty bird on the helmet.

That is just another thing to add to a strange NFL season.

Best thing about the D in my opinion this year is the improved tackling in the secondary. Toler is doing what I had hoped Mcfadden would do last season.

Heck even shorty Money Mike is hitting people and actually knocking them down.

Says the guy with the signature that still refers to the San Diego game.

Thanks Shane Jr., I had forgotten to change that. But then the Car*s didn't have a show last week so what the heck.
