Looking the the stats below, which one is which?

I took the Strike Out stat away since that is the obvious stat. Otherwise, their numbers are pretty even. Of course, Quentin is in his 5th season and Reynolds is in his 4th season. Let's just hope we do not trade Mark away for nothing.

PS Just board and curious how they stacked up.

I would have to say the top is Reynolds because of the number of stolen bases.

Not only that, but Reynolds is a TTO type of player, so BB and HR give it away as much as the Ks would. Also Chase is very 3B friendly, so that gives a hint as well.

Well all that and CQ can't stay healthy so the G for him will be lower despite more years of service.

Am I the only one who can't stand watching Reynolds play, and who desperately wants him gone? His at-bats make me want to kick the tv. Rosie O'Donnell and Madonna looked more competent in "A League of Their Own". Could either of them play 3rd for us?

I like Reynolds as a person, but as long as this team strikes out hundreds and hundreds of times more than every other team in the league, we will be a basement baseball team.

Maybe they can convince him to go down to AAA to work on his swing. It worked for YOung last year,

Not really, Young was just as horrible after his minor league stint last season and didn't get right until this year.

I feel confident Reynolds can regain his form from last season which with his improved defense would make him a keeper. Getting rid of him now when his value is at it's lowest would be just as wrong as people wanting CY shipped last season.

I posted on another thread just recently that Reynold's fielding has improved tremendously, he is a good baserunner (when not playing with bad legs, which he is) . . . but his batting average is embarrassing as our #5 or 6 hitter.

His being among the leaders in HR's and RBI's shows what he is capable of. But his BA isn't .260 or .240 -- it is .216 . . . in August. There is no excuse for that. Only Church and Ojeda are lower.

Not to mention Mark re-setting Major League all-time strikeout records year after year after year. Where the hell is his hitting coach? It took Chris Young being sent to a Minor League hitting coach last year for him develop discipline.

Edwin Jackson has suddenly turned into a dependable starter . . . after being traded.

Our Hitting Coach and Pitching Coach should be shown the door.

When Mark does badly, it affects his performance. When the Pitching Coach does badly, it affects 10-11 guys. When the Hitting Coach does badly, it affects potentially every player on the team.

Good post.

-You simply can't have a team that has 5 guys in the top 26 in strikeouts.

-The pitching and hitting coaches are poor.

-The minor league system has very little talent in AA and AAA.

-The bullpen doesn't need to be mentioned again.

-Stupid contracts have been given out.

Byrnes was awful. I really like Dipito.

i am indifferent on Gibson. I like him, but just want to see people brought in from outside the organization with a fresh approach. We are always promoting from within, and it often fails.

I actually like how Dipito is operating. I think he's well spoken, he's intelligent and seems to be open to taking advice from all of his baseball people before making decisions. I hope they keep him and allow him a big part in choosing a manager. Who that person is however, I have no idea.
