You can include Ray Thompson and LJ Shelton. These were our guys that Graves overpaid to bogus extensions and then cut them less than a year later.
Graves has gotten better, especially at the draft game, but his free agent signings have been average at best.

It is why I don't get excited about free agency at all anymore, if we bring in a guy great, if we don't bring in a guy no worries.
Mulli claimed he "won" by posting Kurt Warner as a Cardinal Free Agent who lasted more than one year.
I pointed out that you had said that the Cards took 2005 off (from signing one year wonders). Warner signed in 2005 so Mulli didn't win.

Bryant McFadden gets $7.5 million over three years

Cornerback Bryant McFadden signed a two-year deal in 2009 with the Cardinals. The contract was due to pay the 16-game starter $4.75 million in 2010.
On Saturday, he was traded back to his former team, the Steelers. Talks already were underway regarding an extension.
Jason La Canfora of NFL.com reported earlier today (and we have since confirmed) that a new deal has been reached, at a value of $7.5 million over three years.
So why the reduction from a $4.75 million salary and a return to free agency in 2011 for a three-year deal at $2.5 million per year? As we understand it, the alternative for McFadden was getting cut -- and the Steelers worked with the Cardinals and McFadden's camp to get a deal done on terms favorable to the team.

I am very disappointed that the Cards got rid of this guy. McFadden was a product of Troy Polumalu's coverage skills. Anyway, who do you guys have to replace him? what if DRC gets injured? what happens then?

Orlando Huff was horrible. I was happy to see him leave.
A lot of these free agents that have been "1 and done" have deserved it.

All it points out is that most of the free-agents we bring in are usually acquired to solve short-range problems (often serving as place-holders until we can upgrade a position via the draft).
Sometimes these guys serve their purpose/sometimes they fall short.
In most cases, they're here for a cuppa and (once they've served their purpose) sent elsewhere.
Occasionally, a few of them play better-than-expected, and we keep them around for more than a year - Edgerrin James; Haggans, Morey, Beisel, Bryant Robinson, Bridges (back a second time) & even Ralph Brown (although I still haven't forgiven him for appearing to short-arm the winning Super Bowl pass to Santonio Holmes).
Regarding McFadden - I think CB is different from any other position on the roster because "either you can play the position effectively or you can't." (And if you can't, it doesn't make sense to waste a roster spot on you).
To me, McFadden seemed to be a zone-guy being asked to play like DRC within the Cardinal scheme. (In situations like this, you can either change the scheme of change the CB. I don't think the Billy Davis aggressive approach to defense works unless you have two aggressive corners breaking on the ball. McFadden wasn't effective within that scheme and got badly torched in the playoff game vs. NO.
My point - If (regardless of his overall reputation) he'd be a liability within the Cardinal defensive scheme, we'd be better off playing youngsters like Toler or our rookies who are more athletic and aggressive in coverage. Since all McFadden would have done here is occupy a place on the roster, it made sense (for both him and us) to trade him.

Greg Toler looked very good at the end of the year. Very good speed, decent size, and doesn't seem to NOT look back to the ball like McFadden. He looks like a keeper, though we desperately need someone, anyone to step up at the 3rd and 4th corner spot.
Luckily, the Niners only have 1 receiver to worry about and DRC is a lot faster than Crabtree. DRC is probably one of the top 3 fastest players in the NFL.

The 49ers seem to be content with their depth at DB right now but one of those guys might be resigned as well.
I don't see either of them beating out Clements, Spencer, or Brown though.

Wrong. Mays official 40 time was in fact slower than DRC's. Dude, I hate to harass you bet you're repeatedly posting bogus facts. I don't know if you're lying or just misinformed, but it's not cool.

See that was the initial report, then it came out later that Mays ran a 4.4
Also reports are Mays is incredibly stiff, and struggles to turn and run with receivers. Match him one-on-one with any decent receiver and he'll be toast every time.
Physically, Mays was the best prospect in the draft. Why do you think he last into the middle of the 2nd round? If I were looking for a safety prospect, I would NOT take Mays.
