Also Colt McCoy should still be on the board according to this.

I think the options in the poll fail, tbh.

Nvm: I just saw McCoy is ranked between the picks on their board. Still Sean Lee would be on the board according to them, just ranked lower than the guys on the list.

I went with Brandon Ghee. He's a big, fast corner and is also a good tackler.

Did you have a problem drafting Beanie to split plays with Hightower? If not how is that any different than drafting Cody to split plays with other DTs?

Lets just say I don't like Cody. I think he's gonna be a fat, lazy & less than dominating pro. If he is indeed drafted by the Redbirds I hope I'm wrong.

You just failed to read the rules

No, but in the real draft we'd know at this point when we are drafting that those players are available also so I'd pick Sean Lee or Brandon Spikes here regardless of whether they'd be available at 87 and 88 too.

Well there should be a ton of nice players in the poll for 87 and 88 I guess then.

I voted for Jason Worilds now regardless of need, O-Line, CB or another WR would be bigger needs than another OLB I guess but I am not high on any of the names in the poll or don't know enough about them.

Vlad Ducasse. He just SCREAMS prototypical Russ Grimm lineman.

And I think he projects as a tackle.

Strengths:
Excellent size with a huge frame and long arms --- Tough, physical and aggressive --- Very strong --- Good athleticism and agility --- Quick and fires off the snap --- Light on his feet --- Gets an outstanding push in the run game --- Stout at the point of attack and can anchor --- Mobile with range to pull, get out in space and reach the second level --- Is feisty and competitive with a nasty on-field demeanor --- Zealous work ethic --- Is versatile --- Durable --- Experienced --- Considerable upside.

Weaknesses:
Questionable instincts and awareness --- Inconsistent leverage and pad level --- Footwork will need to be refined --- Average slide and mirror ability --- Trouble sustaining and falls off blocks --- Concentration and focus will wane at times --- Did not face a lot of quality competition.

Notes:
Last name is pronounced "DOO-cahss" --- Was a three-year starter for the Minutemen --- Born in Port Au Prince, Haiti and didn't come to the United States until 2002, when he was 14-years-old --- Earned 1st Team FCS All-American honors in 2009 --- Named 1st Team All-CAA in 2008 and 2009 --- Also fluent in French and Creole and didn't learn English until his freshman year of high school --- Was a team captain as a senior --- Could project to either tackle or guard at the next level and has experience at both positions --- Still raw and relatively new to the game but is an extremely intriguing prospect with all the physical tools as well as the top - notch intangibles needed to maximize his potential.

I went with Brandon Ghee as he fills our need for a CB to compete for the spot opposite DRC with McFadden and Toler. Though tbh if the things worked out like this in the draft and the likes of Sean Lee and Daryl Washington are there at #58 i cant see us passing them up. Still we play by the rules of the mock.

The two guys that I really want on that list are TE Jimmy Graham and CB Dominique Franks. I would take either but I give Graham the edge because we don't have a top flight TE. Graham has the skills although raw at this point to become the next Tony Gonzalas(spelling?) or Antonio Gates type of TE. Who knows for sure but this guy could be special.

I'd say just add the 'other' option to the polls still so someone can choose another guy who is ranked lower, but who they feel the team would draft there. For my money, in this scenario, I have zero doubt in my mind that we'd draft Sean Lee.

I was going to put the other option but I thought it would muddle things up. Once you get outside of the first round and you don't do a pick by pick poll leading up to your pick there are so many variables that you could go with that eventually a player could win with just 3 or 4 votes. You would have 50 people voting for 15 different players. Which would be even less of a majority then it will be right now, which isn't any good either.

Probably way to many variables for a poll like this one.

I can see what you mean with that, but especially for this pick, I think it would be glaringly obvious what we're going for. The problem is, we really don't have good options up here for 2nd round ILBers. Like I said, I have no doubt the pick would be Lee right here. I'm sure others have different opinions, but I have to abstain from voting and just write in Lee.

At any rate, a great excercise you have going on here. Kudos for taking on this awesome task, Joe

My choice would have been ILB Donald Butler but he wasn't listed.

So I went with what I felt was the BPA at the CB position. Jerome Murphy CB South Florida. Murhpy showed good skills at the Senior Bowl. He is a great athelete and can kick it into another gear. He eventually fills in for McFadden as the season progresses.

Wow, they obviously don't think very highly of Sean Lee.

Sean Lee

...isn't in the poll.

Exactly!

If he is still available, which according to the board being used for this thread (post #14) he is, the pick is Sean Lee. I don't care where he is ranked. If the Cardinals don't take an ILB in the first (according to the exercise we take Cody @ #26), then they take one here. Sean Lee can fill the role and start from day one.

I would be okay with Cody and Lee with the first 2 picks.

Joe you might want to acknowledge who gets the most votes, AND who got the most votes in THE MOST VOTED POSITION for this pick.

Another pole could also consider, who would be the pick if for example the 1st pick would be a LB, or simply someone OTHER than Cody. Because if this is trying to predict how the draft may turn out, we really have no idea of how it will be.

The premise of picking the 2nd pick, should really not inclued the premise of the boards choice for the #1.

This is a MOCK draft. Of course it matters who was selected in round 1.

From the list, I like Vladimir Ducasse best for value – big sized and could fill in at either tackle or guard. But, I don’t believe he’ll be there at #58. So, I voted for Norwood.

Jimmy Graham, U of Miami, TE. Fastest rising reach player in the draft. They loved him at the combine and drooled over him at Miami Pro Day.

6'6" 260 lbs. 4.51 39" vertical, bench 25, etc., etc. fluid catcher. Played one year of NCAA football.

Graham, a former Hurricanes basketball player for Frank Haith, is one of the more intriguing prospects in the NFL draft and might be the biggest reach on this list according to many.

It’s safe to say his dream became a reality as he’s one of the fastest-rising tight-end prospects in the nation. With Graham’s speed, (4.53), size, athleticism, 39-inch vertical and passion to learn, many teams will target him simply on his measurable chart alone.

Descriptions of his game being “fluid” are impressive considering he hadn’t even played organized football since his freshman year—of high school.

That is the player I like best from the options too.
