Jack Ikegwuonu, the talented cornerback from Wisconsin who was expected to be a first-day selection in April's draft, may have seen his 2008 season end before it even began.
He possesses the size and speed NFL scouts want for the next level, leading to his projection as a second-round pick. Now he's likely to fall into the very late rounds.

....

if you were a GM, would you gamble a late round pick (4-7th) to a guy who, if able to bounce back, would be an amazing value?
I'm looking for our draftniks to tell us a little more about the guy, I only saw a handful of Wis games and he never really stood out.

Very talented. Plays down to his competition on occasion - he'll shut out a top receiver only to give up 60+ to a lesser one the next over. Physical and has/had the speed to keep up with speedsters. Just needs to piece everything together and maintain consistency.

Tend to be overrated by some people on the 'net, but he can be a real good one with some coaching.

I'd drop a 6th on him.

He will be a mid 4th rd pick IMO. Along with a lot of others. If the Cardinals have not addressed CB (for whatever reason) by this time, I would snatch him up

There are some pretty intriguing 3rd round and later corners:

Godfrey out of Iowa
Lee out of Auburn
both the LSU corners (Jackson and Harris)

I'm hearing Lee could go as high as late first round...

He has TREMENDOUS ball skills, if he is there in the 2nd.. I'd take him...

Godfrey was a good special teamer as a younger man, he also played saftey his So and part of his Jr year.

He's pretty fast, but seems to have the brain freezes more often than you'd want (as a fan especially) he'd be developmental, but he has enough upside and the physical measurements that he may get drafted a little sooner than 3rd, depending on his combine performance.

bounce back? did I miss something was he injured

An ACL tear isn't a permanent injury, just a tough one. Plenty of guys come back from them, but because it isn't a given his draft day value will drop. A team would be very lucky to spend a second day pick for potential of first day talent.
