Zion Young’s Captaincy Says Everything About His Leadership​

Before Zion Young ever put on an NFL jersey, he was already leading a locker room. Being voted team captain isn’t something that just happens—it’s earned. And for Young, it meant everything.

When asked about that honor, he connected it back to both his team and his upbringing.

“It meant a lot, especially when my team voted for me. It says a lot about how my team viewed me. And just being the captain, like I said, it means a lot. I come from a big family, usually with my dad and my oldest brother being the leader of my team back at home, so it feels really good. At the end of the day, I have to lead by example. I'm fired up. I'm very much so fired. I'm more fired up than y'all seem on this call. I don't know if y'all bored or fired up. I don't know. I'm fired up though, for sure.”

That energy? It’s real. And it’s something Baltimore’s locker room will feed off quickly.
