The rave reviews continue for Declan Doyle. The Baltimore Ravens' new offensive coordinator has yet to call a regular-season play for his new team, but enthusiasm surrounding his arrival continues to build. From veteran coaches to franchise cornerstones, confidence in Doyle appears to be spreading throughout the organization.

It began long before organized team activities opened. Former colleagues routinely praised Doyle's football intelligence and work ethic. Ben Johnson, under whom Doyle previously coached, spoke highly of him. More recently, Lamar Jackson described Baltimore's new offensive attack as smooth, an encouraging sign, given that the quarterback will be responsible for executing it.

Now, another of the Ravens' most explosive offensive weapons has joined the growing fan club. Following Baltimore's third OTA session open to the media, wide receiver Zay Flowers and defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver offered perhaps the strongest endorsement yet.

Zay Flowers sees something special

Following Baltimore's third OTA session open to the media, wide receiver Zay Flowers offered perhaps the strongest endorsement yet. Thank the Ravens social media team for the quote.

"He got stuff that I've never seen. Plays and routes. (He's) a genius. He wants the offense to be the best offense in the league, and that's how he coaches it."

Those comments speak to what appears to be a recurring theme whenever Doyle's name surfaces: innovation. Players consistently mention his creativity, attention to detail, and ability to view the game differently. That combination has generated excitement throughout an offense already loaded with talent. The respect reaches the defensive side, too.

Perhaps even more telling is the support Doyle receives from those tasked with stopping his offense. Defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver spends practices studying Doyle's tendencies, evaluating his concepts, and searching for weaknesses. If anyone has a unique perspective on the coordinator's abilities, it would be the coach lining up against him every day. According to Weaver, the admiration is never-ending.

Count Anthony Weaver among the many fans of @ravens offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.

He called him a “human computer.”

Of course, praise in June guarantees nothing in September. The true evaluation will begin once the regular season arrives and opposing defenses start game-planning for Baltimore's offense.

Still, when a two-time MVP quarterback, a Pro Bowl-caliber receiver, and the team's defensive coordinator are all expressing confidence in the same coach, it's difficult to ignore. For now, at least, belief in Declan Doyle extends well beyond the sideline and deep into the Ravens locker room.
