While Zac Youkam did get some opportunities to kick for Notre Dame football, and although Mitch Jeter has now finished his eligibility, the transfer of Noah Burnette from North Carolina forced him to move on as well.
On Thursday he announced that he has committed to the Houston Cougars, as the rising junior will now have an opportunity to be the main place kicker this coming season. Youkam struggled this past year, hitting just 2 of 5 field goal attempts, while making all 18 of his point after tries.
While Jeter was out with an injury, it did seem like the Irish were handcuffed a bit due to his inaccuracy, but still gave him more than enough opportunities to succeed. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and we wish Zac the best in Houston.
