WINDHAM — The Rochester Slammers 10U softball team won all six of its games to capture the New Hampshire Babe Ruth state championship on Sunday, June 14.
Rochester defeated Salem (19-2), Dover (16-0), Windham (11-1), and Litchfield (16-2) to advance to the semifinals. It then beat Barrington, 8-4, in the semifinals before edging SNH Strikers Blue, 2-1, in the championship game.
“This group has consistently shown up to practice and worked their butts off,” said Rochester head coach Jake Moody. “They care for each other and take coaching. This is a tournament we have circled every year, and they showed out. They’ve earned all the success they are having.”
Rochester is now 31-2 on the season with two tournaments remaining — the Barrington Grip & Rip Tournament and the Babe Ruth New England regional tournament, which will be hosted by the Rochester Girls Softball League at Roger Allen Park from June 25-28.
Members of the team include Ahna McNulty, Annika Congram, Aria Buckley, Aria Lanciano, Charlie Chesley, Charlie Jerr, Delilah Zuill, Emersyn Moody, Emma Berry, Freya Stewart, Juliana Lapointe, and Penelope Dick.
Assistant coaches are Maegan Jerr, Thomas Stewart, and Shawn Berry.
